Live EP poster framed.

Post by hansolo »

My friend's frame shop is going out of business so I had him frame a few things. I It sounds like he wants to go into something else because of the economy here in the U.S.

I had this poster for about 15 years and finally framed it. When I got it, it was rolled up and there was some light wear, so I had it between two pieces of foam core. I'm not sure if the poster was commercially released or just to promote the Live EP (Southampton '80). Anyone know?

Im not sure about the promotion. It may be if it was released to the public prior to the E.P coming out. I know my father has an original picture disc E.P, though it isn't in mint.... It's kinda worn cause I use to play it so much. If the poster was only used to promote the album, then there are very few of them cause I have never seen a poster like that. Anyways, very very very very very good poster!

That's what I was hoping to hear. I love the poster and now I have it hanging in me kitchen and I love it. The first time I saw the poster, I bought it in '96, for 50 bucks + framing. Ozzy and the cod piece in a diary photo, '80 EP + the diary writing. I didn't have this poster as a kid but almost every other Ozzy poster...

Joe That's a cool poster i've always liked that EP cover it's one of the better ones. I'm sure it is a copy of an original promo poster. If it was official it would of had Jet or CBS or a connection to the catalogue number somewhere on the poster. I have an original DOAM UK release poster and it was used as part of a display in a record shop. I asked the shop manager if he would keep the poster for me when they took the display down. It's this one on the left.

It does say p/s 37492 Ozzy 1982 CBS at bottom. I love that diary outtake shot. That is pretty cool.

Nice! That looks awesome, framed like that. That E.P. brings back a lot of memories. I have two copies of it: one with regular vinyl featuring the picture above on the cover, as well as the picture disc I've had since late '82. Indeed: that promo poster looks great in a frame.

Well you could be onto an original is the 37492 any connection to the catalogue number for that release. Nice find if it's original.. I've just bagged the cassette tape of the same EP for a 30p bargain.

I have the cassette and the album from Korea. Very strange edit. I love the Argentinian Diary "Diario un de loco" - Coolest alternate album cover ever.

I had one of these neon orange prints that I bought from Spencer's gifts in the early eighties but I believe I got this one in the mid nineties. There was a reprint with a purplish rainbow that I had plak-it-ed. You Canadian guys know what I'm talkin' 'bout...

Did you get the normal or chrome version? I believe the cassette was Canadian and the EP vinyl, like the cassette, had the poster front w/the '80 live shot of the band like the UK back. The UK had the Ozzy tassel shirt on the front and of course the U.S. pic disc and the promos too!

I've now got both versions the inlay cards are slightly different. The Chromium Dioxide version has the tex on the bottom and the other is very plain with the tracks listed. Both have the Ozzy chainmail cod piece 'screaming' :o pics. They are both first rate originals with no crackle. Which is a bonus with them being on tape no hiss or needle static. But the intro on Crowley has always sounded rough on all the versions i've heard. I remember at the time thinking it was Gold and a cool item to have. Nearly all the HM Rock bands put out EP's and 45's with Live B sides back in the early 80's. It was great to get a snippet of the band Live before you got a chance to see them on stage.
