UR Interview with Lee Kerslake
Having a break from online activity for a while to concentrate on music. Please email if you need to get in touch. Matt
This is a real honour for UR, Lee hasn't wanted todo this before so we re so lucky that he chose UR to share his memories with.
My thanks to Ritchie and Captain Matt, you are two gents and true friends. Lee's voice is new to the fans of Randy and this participation is amazing, we are all very lucky indeed.

Ian, cheers matexx
I think lately especially, not being the official site, actually has opened additional doors, not only in hearing a more rounded view of Randy the man, but making people in certain circles more willing to perhaps come forward and tell their story.
there are many ways to skin a cat as they say
I hope we can finally track down Dave Miller and interview him too, that would be a wonderful!!

Matt, don't know if this question has been resolved yet or not? In looking thru Randy Perry's thread URR Archive posts for schedule/dates of concerts, Randy had a question re:
2 dates played by "LAW", dates and venues unknown, possibly Blackpool and Cromer U.K., 1980 prior to Ozz tour. Because of time frame, it seems to me that it is possible, Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisley, performed with Law at those shows. Wondering if Lee would remember, dates and venues ? If you do get the chance of a second interview, is it possible to put this as a question on your short list? Thanks

I covered this question in the Q&A so we may find out some interesting stuff from this gig. It's always puzzled me that no one who went to any of these gigs has ever come forward and said what venue they did play at. With these being the debut shows before Ozzy started his UK tour, i wonder if they would of recorded the shows to hear what they sounded like as a Live band. When Bob Daisley has been asked about these early gigs he has very little info. I think it was Bob who said Roy Wood from ELO and Wizzard fame turned up at one of the gigs.Cpt Matt Sparrow wrote:Mysterious, sexy Ms RRFish, Of course!RRfish wrote:Matt, don't know if this question has been resolved yet or not? Kevin posts 7/31/08 2:46pm that he was at that Blackpool concert, says he ran into Randy outside after concert ended, and spoke with him briefly. Says Oz was throwing flyers or posters into audience, and Kevin has a copy which Randy signed for him. I don't belong to facebook, but maybe one of you here do , and could get in touch with him. Kevin also said a copy of that flyer/poster is on his facebook page. Who knows, maybe Kevin will have a date, and which venue it was held at?

Sorry, having computer problems ! eechhhs! Anyway try to Google this: "Randy Rhoads" + Blackpool 3rd entry down is Kevin from Myspace.
The other date missing in Cromer, I believe is 6/21/80 at West Runton Pavillion. Graham Philpot posts in their guest book, that he attended that concert ,and has autographs from the entire Ozz band as well as Budgie and Burke Shelly. When you go to the link, you need to look under "inside this issue" and click on "What Flo Said Next" left side of page. Scroll almost to the bottom of page and you will find Graham Philpots entry.

P.S. In looking for those dates, I came across something that may or may not be of interest. The Word Online Magazine : a fellow named Coatsey says he attended a "Michael Schenker Group" concert with Randy Rhoads, also playing that night. Hammersmith Odeon, 1980. When I checked Schenker's date for that concert it was 9/25/80. Ozz and Randy were there, 9/20/80. Since, Randy admired Schenker, I wonder if he joined up to jam, since that was a day off for Ozz? The article is by Patrick Crowther and Coatsey's post is way down at the bottom of the article. 6/6/09 at 4:24 am. "Some Great gigs", is the title of coatsey post ,and the 6th band he lists is "Michael Schenker Group, with Randy Rhoads" If it is true that Randy played with them that evening, it might make for another great interview !

shenker was a very chased band back in the early 1980's and most of his shows were bootlegged, I am sure this show would have been recorded and traded. BUT I do know that lots of randy info and those shows traded in the early 1980's did get lost and still lay unheard in old time traders collections.
I made lots of pre 85 Ozzy shows available when I returned to trading after a 15 year gap, those shows were not rare back in Britain in the day but had never crossed the Atlantic and became lost because the collectors had lost interest over time. Considering I re-ciculated them sombody might have the Shenker-Rhoads show BUT might need a nudge or at least locate someone who has that date and ask if RR is on it. Some shows are that grim they don't listened to and only the hard core collectors have them!! this might just be one of those
