At what point, specifically, did I fail to acknowledge that anyone else's opinion was not valid?

that's where.
If I believe it, that is not a flaw. If you read everything I've written here, I repeatedly mention my belief in freedom of choice. That means I believe everyone has the right to choose what they want to believe. That inherently means everyone's opinion is valid. So I don't see where I have been narrow-minded nor where I failed to acknowledge anyone's opinion as valid. I simply said I don't don't feel my beliefs are flawed and I didn't care for that insiuation.
Misunderstanding... I apologize for the "jerk" comment.

Yes, there might have been a man named Jesus 2000 years ago
in Jerusalem. His father was no god though. His father was a
simple carpenter by the name Joseph.
then how is it that he changed the face of history? i am writing this question on march 31, 2007 anno domini.
you know, when i was younger, i despised christians. i thought they were pompous, self-righteous one dimensional a**holes. then i came face to face with the reality of Him and i was undone.
OK, tomorrow, April 1, is Palm Sunday.
One more week until Easter. This is the week that we all as Christians
have learned the suffering of Jesus, the betrayal of his friends, the crucifixion, and His resurrection.
It is also a time for rejoicing, for learning that there is hope.

Heey Frank,
Life, whole nature on earth itself for sure is some nice architecture! And it's up to everyone to interprete that in their own way.
But my question is, why does this architecture exists? My question goes maybe even behind God. Imagine this: there could be also nothing.......... can you imagine that? Nothing.... That gives a weird feeling. But I have to keep options open, something exists or it doesn't.
So everything is created by God? Ok, maybe, but who created God then? And so on and on! Questions will always remain.
If we look at the universe itself we can say it's a nice architecture, but there is also a lot of chaos in the universe. There is even a Chaos Theory in science for that!
Think about this: if you never in your life heard anyone talk about God, relegion or whatever, would you still question things like why we are here? Would someone come on his own that there must be a higher power? Would someone receive the message from God anyway? Most people become familiar with religion by other people...... but what if they never met these people?
For some people I know they had those questions too and 'solved' them for themselves when they found a religion. Quick and easy, so they wouldn't be bothered anymore with some fundamental questions.......
I think I am a sort of sceptical believer. The existing religions don't give me satisfying answers. I don't say there isn't a God either, honestly I don't know....... And I can (have to) live with that.... I know there are people who can't so they solved it with a religion. This is not a stab to the believers, I can only speak for myself, if people do/can believe and feeling better with that then I think it's a great gift !
And who knows, maybe one day He/She/It will speak to me as well!
I appreciate your (& everyone elses) posts Frank! I'm afraid this will become a never ending topic!
if i never heard about god, would i question all of this? yes dutch i believe i would. there is within each of us a void that cannot be otherwise filled. why are we here? that's the $64,000 question isn't it? did the world "create" intelligence or did intelligence create the world? you're right though...these are questions that do not go away. but you are open minded and for that i am glad.

who says he did? the bible?
how about the liability of the bible?
anybody knows its origin?
well for starters, my friend, did you read the next sentence? 2007 ANNO DOMINI is the year we live in. THE YEAR OF THE LORD is how we mark time. the bible was written by 66 authors over roughly 2000 years. you're not the first to question it's authenticity but i admire your tenacity stiltz.

Actually, written further back, starting with the Book of Genesis.

genesis to revelation is about 2000 years i believe.
ok, The first eleven chapters of Genesis provide accounts of the creation (or ordering) of the world, and the history of God's early relationship with humanity.
The remaining thirty-nine chapters of Genesis provide an account of God's covenant with the Hebrew patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (also called Israel), and Jacob's children (the "Children of Israel"), especially Joseph. It tells of how God commanded Abraham to leave his family and home in the city of Ur, eventually to settle in the land of Canaan, and how the Children of Israel later moved to Egypt.
