Being a fan of Randy Rhoads is not worth this bullshit. So, I'm done with this "community".

I received a nice email from a friend who convinced me not to abandon this place. While I have decided to keep the ties to UR, I feel the need to say something regarding this issue.

I understand feeling violated by what you are claiming has been done, but do you really think anyone's going to get jail time or major fines? You've quoted cases with Sarah Palin - a well known, well-connected politician - and people who accessed student loan records of the president of the United States! Do you really think someone reading PMs on the fan site of a virtually unknown guitar player compares to those cases?

Be offended by these activities, take measures to stop them, but keep in mind this is small potatoes in legal terms.

If you don't want people offended by what you say privately, don't say anything offensive. If you don't want PMs read, don't write them...

Paul this is something that we have found out by pure chance. What is this guys motives for doing this ?. What is he capable of doing at other sites. When someone is that switched on with PC security etc. Do you wait until he has hacked into your bank account or used your credit card on line ?.

I agree, breaking a law is breaking a law is breaking a law. The point I was trying to make is that, more often than not, the 'small potatoes' don't get the justice that politicians and those with money will get.

Sure, following through on this is the right thing to do, I agree with that. Not knowing what evidence there is, I reserve the right to point a finger of guilt at anyone. I will simply go about my day and see what happens.

Natalee Holloway disappeared 5 years ago, her disappearance has not been solved. The man most assume did the deed to her has now been arrested in connection with a new murder. If he's convicted in the new crime, will that equal justice for what he is assumed to have done in Aruba? Depends on your point of view.

If someone has hacked into the private messages here, prosecution should take place. Will justice be served? Who knows? I just want everyone to keep in mind that this situation might be ignored because the authorities may consider it a waste of time. That doesn't mean it is a waste of time, but it depends on the point of view of those who will be meting out the penalties.

That's all I'm saying... don't get your hopes up, because this may go nowhere.

I think everyone (no matter who, what or where) should never forget that pm's or emails eventually can be read by others somehow.....

Very true Patrick. What was the difference here within the small community of friends across the net was that a person invaded privacy for what looks like personel gain. This started wjen people objected to the admision that private information had ben gathered without permision from telephone calls! then that escalated into harvesting private information from member of the forums!

Though we are small on the forums we are one unit and when a person decides to use priavete information for defermation of another individual or to see and gather details for use later! this becomes very sinister indeed, we excuse our governments doing this and say well its national security! even if we don't believe it or find questionable but when a person sitting in a house with a very odd past known to everyone acts in this fashion it makes us realise that action is needed.
What I feel makes this vital is that the person concerned runs a site whom have made it clear they are owned by a comercial enterprise and we now have seen the evidence that private information that we know was taken is perhaps in the hands of sombody/company who is hoping to proffit from Randy fans unlike the established forums.

What will this do to Randy's legacy and the reputation of the Rhoads family if people unaware of how the fourums have worked are taken advantage of, not only will the above all be tainted but so will the the existing forums.

In order for any agency to take action it is important to have a well written complaint letter. Here are some important ideas that should be included in this complaint.

1) Address your letter to a specific person (no problem)
2) Begin your letter on a positive tone (no obscenities please)
3) Be brief (one page only)
4) Be honest and straightforward (important details only)
5) Maintain a firm but respectful tone, and avoid aggressive, accusing language (no he said/ she said)
6) Send only photocopies of documents, and retain all originals (self explanatory)
7) Get other signatures (need you all to sign off on this complaint)
8 ) Do not threaten! (no personal vendettas)
9) Avoid making generalizations (don't speculate)
10) Use tact, and be direct, but respectful (no sarcasm)

I'll be discussing what to include in this complaint letter with Ian in the next few days. I would like for everyone to express an opinion about the content and language. While I am delivering this complaint to the proper authorities I would like this to be a collective response. All for one...

I wanted to explain some legal terms that are sure to come up in the complaint. These terms are used to define "what" or "whom"was violated. Here is a PDF: Types Of Cyber Crimes

Hacking: - Hacking is simply defined as unauthorized access to computer system or networks. This is done for stealing information stored in computer hard disks. When someone gets into your email, reads it and responds to it, it's illegal.

Intellectual Property: (IP)- refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce. IP can be divided into two categories: Industrial property (like trademarks) and Copyrights (like drawings, musical works). Even our threads on UR are copyrighted. Everything on UR's website is copyrighted.

Cyberterrorism:- There are many forms of cyberterrorism. Sometimes it maybe a smart hacker who breaks into a government website, or it maybe an individual who crashes a website by flooding it with traffic. No matter how harmless it may seem, it is still illegal.

Cyber Bullying:- This is online harassment. Many countries in Europe and several states in the United States have laws to punish those who consistently harass somebody over the Internet.

Ian, since both my AOL account and Facebook account have been neutralized by UR's hacker I want to put the questions up here to see if they will disappear before our very eyes. I want to know if UR is truly secure and this is a great test to find out if UR's hacker wants to stop UR's legal complaint. Note: Some of these questions are in regards to Steve A. Blevins involvement with UR while others were just questions about the hacking of UR and it's various members. Some answers I already knew. Here are my questions once more...

1) Was Mr. Blevins a moderator at RandyRhoads.tk? Ans: No. He was a member there and was banned for repeated verbal attacks against members.

2) Was Mr. Blevins a moderator at UltimateRhoads.com or just an assistant for Peter Margolis? Ans: Assistant

3) Has Mr. Blevins ever bragged he has extensive skills in computers in open forum? Ans: Yes

4) Was the software upgrade on May 9, 2010 a direct result of hacking into the UR database or was it simply inevitable?

5) Do you (Ian) have a prior relationship with Mr. Blevins before the creation of UR?

6) What kinds of decisions/answers did Mr. Blevins make which were questionable and led to his banning from UR?

7) Do you (Ian and Joe) want me to file this case for UR? Ans: Yes, it is in U.S. jurisdiction.

8 ) UR is more than a social network for fans. I bought a RRT-1 Deluxe pedal from Pete (and so did you Ian). UR is thus a business network where goods and services are bought/ sold or traded. I used my PM to make this business transaction. UR's hacker thus broke into my “business” email accounts, not just my personal message account. This can be characterized as someone trying to steal personal account information. Matt sells CD’s through UR to raise money for the scholarship fund. The hacker's illegal activities have thus disrupted those transactions as well. Is this true? Ans: Yes.

9) RRfish had one of her emails altered. Correct?

10) Have you kept any of Mr. Blevins's PM’s directed at you on UR or on Facebook?

i have read this entire thread, and actually, Paul Wolfe is dead on correct... unless it is a high profile case, or there is an obstruction of commerce, or some sort of theft (identity or monetary) or unless someone is seriously being stalked (with a genuine fear for their life) - trying to have have someone prosecuted for certain internet crimes (bullying, hacking PMS, etc.) is not going to be a very productive endeavor. You'll be lucky if that person is even written a ticket. lol. If you want any kind of results, your best bet is to go the avenue of money scam... the fact that that site takes your money (donations) and then subsequently deletes your account for no apparent TOS violations, simply because you may be a member of another site in which that site's admins see as a "competition" site - and that they are getting that information by hacking the database of the "competition" site. It really is a money scam, people. RR Electric - you should contact their ISP via letter, outlining how this scam seems to flow and make sure that you cc: the FBI Computer Crimes Department ANDDDDDD cc: the Internal Revenue Service (hey, if someone is making a profit off of that site, then they should be paying taxes on it - it will be up to the IRS to determine whether the donations are legitimately considered donations, or if they should be considered "income" based on what kind of documentation the RR.US dudes can produce to show exactly where those funds are going) and I promise you, NOBODY likes the IRS all up in their business. Make sure that you refer to RR.US as RR.US/Warhead Records, so their is no mistaking that they are one in the same. This is a FOR PROFIT "record company" putting out a website for a deceased artist (who was never under any contract with them) requesting donations for certain types of memberships, and then deleting the memberships once payment has been received by them. I would be willing to be, that if their books were looked through, you will find that most of your donations probably went towards funding their "company" and funding Mr. Blevins' son's endeavor.

Hey Ian, I said thanks to HP already in a PM. She is a top notch paralegal isn't she. I listened to everyone of her brilliant ideas. She said things I never thought of (i.e., money scam). Here is a list of UR's grievances so far with their proper documentation.

Hello David and from what I see these as we both know have been proved beyond reasonable doubt time and time again.

And HP is a wonderful woman and her input for me has been enjoyable. Both her and I share many political beliefs and ideas and I find her aspects on life very interesting.
