Yes, he was most likely referring to the Kahler tremolo. The Floyd had been around for a little while at that point, he never had one with the Kahler (Or whatever it possibly was) because it was still being designed at that point.

I would definitely say it was a Kahler as well..Like cryptic said, Floyds were already around...and if you look at early Jackson RR San Dimas models, most of them have a kahler (if they have a tremelo at all) So i'm willing to bet the Kahler was the new one he was talking about, not a floyd...But if the guitar in the picture that sik just posted was really being made for Randy, then it wouldn't have had a kahler, as the cut out on that guitar is a lot smaller than it should be for a kahler to be put in...

Besides that IMHO NOBODY Touches Randy when it comes to Left hand Vibrato & Bending the neck on the Les Paul!!
its just a shame floyds kill the sound of the guitar (imo).....a well set up strat style trem will hold tune perfectly well just ask jeff beck

I would say jake out does randy with the neck bending.....mainly because he did it a lot compared to randy
jake also played that sg a lot & the neck is easier to bend than a LP.
