I think one of the most memorable images of Dio is his appearence in the 'Pick of Destiny'. I liked how Tenacious D looked up to Dio as a mega icon and they even wrote a song titled 'Dio' "Dio has rocked for a long long time. Now it's time for him to pass the tourch".
"Now go my son and Rock !!!!!..."

RIP Ronnie.
Some folks don't know that Ronnie James Dio started his career around 1957 in a Do-wop band That just goes to show that he was a total entertainer and a Great showman. How many other guys have done this ...not many. He sang with the passion that Randy Rhodes Played with imho...Rock On Ronnie

Another thing to note is that his cousin David Feinstien played in several of his bands before Ronnie formed Dio. David is the guitarist for The Rods, a NY based rock band.
"Mother, please show the children

To fight each other, there's no one winning
We must fight all the hate"

Yep I was at work when I heard the news, and it hit me hard. Thank god I saw him recently with heaven and hell before he passed on. He will be missed! He may have left us in body, but his memory, inspiration and spirit will live on forever!

Didn't see this post... It sucks he died, and from what was suppose to be only a "Minor" case of stomach cancer that would be cured. I guess not. It's like the Randy Rhoads of Singing dying right there. R.I.P RJD!
