I can't wait to see the DVD but most are overlooking the most important thing, restoring the CD's. I was at KMart one day and a teenage guitar player was buying Blizzard. I explained to him what happend in 2002. He then sat the CD down and didn't purchase it. This wont happen again.

What is important to me is the two albums being returned to their original state. The footage is a nice bonus for sure, but I am more about getting back these two titans of hard rock the way four friends recorded them three decades ago.
Other folks may not see it that way right now, but even after thirty consecutive days of watching the Palladium footage, even the die hards will tire of it...it'll retire to the shelf with the rest of the DVDs and be taken down for viewing once in a while, but the music is what will persevere.
Eventhough there is thirty minutes of a filmed show coming, it's not going to be enough. Folks realize that right?
This song didn't get played, there wasn't a spotlight solo, why is the camera on Ozzy, I wish Randy was wearing this outfit instead, why couldn't this have been the castle stage.

Good point about the DVD part Tom! (watch it a few times and retire to the shelf) but I,m happy with '95 Remasters of both CDs (sound is crisp/clear and original) I,m looking forward the Live Cd that's NEW! (I know its not new to most on here, but I can't take listening to bootlegs very long......

It is sort of odd that as far as anyone knows, neither Randy's brother nor sister were included to be part of this doc, whether they weren't asked or declined, you would think someone would represent Randy as he isn't around to speak for himself, obviously.
I didn't even think about that until you mentioned it, Tito.
They're obviously on good terms with one another, as Ozzy's people previewed the footage at Randy's memorial in March and Kathy's wine was featured backstage at a few of Ozzy's shows in CA.
I would imagine both parties would have had to get together at some point to go over the audio, video and photos.
It's just very strange that this is supposed to be a celebration of sorts for these albums, though, no one who was involved in creating them is present, except for Ozzy, nor is anyone who toured in support of them are there either, except for Ozzy and Sarzo.
Once I found out Bob and Lee were being excluded, I knew that Ozzy's doc was to be no more than a puff piece.
Is that an unfair statement to make as I haven't seen this yet? Probably, but the list of people excluded from the project, besides Bob and Lee, more or less confirms my feelings.

I agree. Although I ordered the box set, I'm let down in the sense the more effort was not put into the doc. I have not seen it, but I hear the main feature is only 41 minutes. How can you cover two years, two albums and the life of one Randy Rhoads in 41 minutes?

Also, the fact that it comes with no covers for the CD's or the DVD is upsetting. I mean, opening the gatefold of the LP's it looks to me like tiny crosses everywhere with some coloring of yellow or something? I mean, why not fill the gatefold with photos, or something? Why not make the cd booklet part of the LP and create the original sleeves and create a booklet to insert in the LP fold?

More could have been done.

Two ways of thinking about the lack of disc packaging:
1. The cost of manufacturing the cross. There are probably a total of seventeen people, globally, who are psyched that this is part of the package, and I'm not one of them.
2. Sony figures why bother? The majority of consumers will either rip the CDs to their PCs so the tracks can be loaded onto whatever MP3 player they have, then the originals will go back into the box, or on a shelf to collect dust.
This is the route I'm going, I haven't physically played my '95s for years. I consider them my master copies if everything went wrong with my computer and ipod.
Most folks also burn discs to take in their cars as well, so no point in spending the money on sturdier packaging.
I would rather they put more of their resources into the quality of the book: High resolution photos on good stock paper, etc.
Other than that, for those who do own the '02s and are getting the box, there is finally an instance where the case is more useful than the disc itself!

I understand what you saying, but the '95 Remasters are all over e-bay, it's not like you can't get them anymore. I,m buying BOO and Diary seprate BECAUSE of the packaging. I,m hoping that they will have good liner notes and maybe, just maybe where the Live disk was recorded......

I owned them when they first came out on CD in the 80's, this is my third set of 95's, I was one of the first to get suckered into the 02's, (before the outer sticker appeared stating they were re-recorded), and here I am, about to hop in line once more.
Anyone remember what the liner notes of the 02s were comprised of?

I think think the bastardized versions notes were written by a kerrang editor, i think they just went on about ozz n randy and how they didnt know what shit was about to go down with randy ect..

EDIT. Ive just noticed that on the back of the '95 blizzard theres a photo of bob, oz and randy and compared it with 'the original back cover photo' on the '02 one they edited out bob and randy. Allah knows why.
