I did ask him your exact question and this was his response...
"hahahaha As far as I know back then, there were no monitors in the bar area. Early 80's was not as technically advanced as things are these days. The Capitol was a small theater held a little over 2000 people. It was a XXX theater when it wasn't being used for concerts. Maybe right before they tore it down there may have been color moniotrs but I doubt it.
