i think so many things are coming together now we are going to get flooded with Randy Rhoads footage soon. We will see a ton in documentary. But i think afterwards when Randy's name is mentioned on TV a bit promoting the documentary people will think

"oh, i have a video of that guy"

Alot of stuff is going to come out of the wood work most likely. People who have these videos probably just think its another ozzy show and have no clue who Randy is. That is main reason none of this stuff surfaces.

Looks like a screen or something. Could that be a camera?
It would be a perfect position to film......
Simple explanation.

That's the "soundboard" area.

No video ... sorry.
I have seen some festivals where they did film from that "soundboard" area. Not sure if they did on DOTG '81, I wasn't there, you were!

I still think that thing that thing to the left of the "screen" is one of the old swivel camera stands, it looks EXACTLY like one.

Sure it does.... and at the right of that looks very much like a monitor.
We need a better pic of that. Also how many people would notice if there was a cam filming from there? There still could be some footage of this although maybe not really pro shot.

Check out this: Freebird Lynyrd Skynyrd (DOTG '77)
It's filmed from a few angles but it's hard to spot any cams even in this clip.

I emailed Ross Halfin who took some pictures of Ozzy's band around this time. I asked if he could recall any of the gigs being filmed. He replied that Day on the Green was. Sorry that's all the information I have!

I asked Phil Anderson and he told me he didn't see any filming that day....

That's funny as he wasn't even there - but Neil Zlozower WAS.

Sorry, he's clueless, if he indeed told you that.

No wonder I didn't see him, then, if all his photos are all backstage looking outward.

He's still wrong about any filming being done, however.

This is the photo that Ross mentions as being Randy's fav photograph. The story behind the pic is very funny. Randy had been going for it ..shredding with his legs wide and his ass in his trousers ripped... so Ross was trying to get a pic of his bare ass. Randy rushed off stage and quickly changed into another pair. If you look through the pics of him he has a pair of trousers with piping down the side. He changed into a plain all black pair.
