Anyone ever notice the similarities between the outro solo that Tom Scholz (Boston) plays on "Long Time" and the solo Randy plays on "Little Dolls?" if you listen to Long Time, you can almost envision Randy playing on the recording.
I personally love the Little Dolls solo. It's got aspects of Scholz and even Gilmour.

Kevin DuBrow said in the liner notes of the Randy Rhoads Years CD that Boston was an influence them. He compared the song "Trouble" to having a heavy Boston influence.

I think the bigger similarity would be between Tom and Randy's recording techniques, Tom to me is kind of the father of multi-tracked guitars and Randy was maybe the best at doing that in the studio. Their recorded tones have always reminded me somewhat of each other but Randy's playing was always alot "meaner" than anything Boston ever did. They both had a very similar sense of melody to, now that I think about it, I mean is "Let Me Take You Home Tonight" that much different melodically than "Goodbye To Romance"? Very interesting post.

I noticed Don't Look Back by Boston resembles the Little Dolls bass line and also Randy's outro solo in Little Dolls.
There is so much Sholz is his playing. Very cool.
