What Guitars Do You Own?

Post by Axeman1956 »

Just curious to see what guitars Randys own.

I have 3 guitars. My first is a Fender Strat with 3 Colour Sunburst. My second is a nice Douglas made of a single piece of Mahogany. It's got a damn Floyd Rose (Arrrrggg!) that screws the tuning up. My third is an Epiphone Les Paul Custom. (The White Randy Gibson). Just got a week ago. Works like a charm.

I use a modified lefty Fender Strat with Gibson humbuckers and a Kahler tremolo system. I also chopped off the "violin" looking headstock and made it into more of a pitch fork. I also have a White Hamer custum eclipse guitar and my third guitar is a Peavey Predator with Floyd rose tremolo system. Those are the main ones I use and teach with. All have a somewhat different feel to them. Love 'em all!!

I hate my Floyd Rose. Makes it impossible to tune

LOL! So do I. Love my Kahler though. I'm thinking of trading out the Floyd Rose with a Kahler one on the Predator. My Floyd Rose is a nightmare because I have to cut the ends off my string and bend them precisely back into the slits and hope they never slip out. The Kahler system I got never goes out of tune even if I don't lock the strings down. I've heard stories that are the complete opposite of mine. Maybe it's because I'm not a "Pink Floyd" fan.

Well here are a few guitars of 7 total, couldn't get them all out at the moment.

Gibson Les Paul Custom,
Gibson Angus Young Sig SG,
Regal RJ-770 Acoustic,
and in the backdrop a Washburn Acoustic Electric which is not mine.

Amp is a Carvin V3 with matching 4x12 loaded with Vintage 30s.

Sweet gear in the previous posts! 8)

Back in 1980 I bought my first guitar - a '66 Fender Mustang... recently I've been thinking of selling my Gretsch so as to afford one of the Mustang re-issues...

I bought mine (with a Fender Princeton Reverb amp) for $210 - now they want $939 for the re-issue... thanks alot Kurt Cobain!
