Orianthi

I'm not much into new music, but this shows a lot of potential. She's a far cry from the manufactured Disney pop stars.

To be honest , i'm extremely tired of seeing her name and pic everywhere .. grossly over-commercialised as far as i'm concerned .

I like her to Paul, I like the fact that she is introducing the guitar to alot of young girls (especially) that otherwise might not ever have that kind exposure to it. She plays good to, I can definately hear some Steve Vai in her playing which is not to surprising. She seems to handle it all well to from what I have seen so far, that's rare for alot of artist her age that are in that style of music (or any other for that matter).

Check them out if you have a minute, Paul.
Hey Alex, I do like those, thanks for helping to broaden my horizons.

That's what impresses me most. I hear 'Radio Disney' music all day, every day at work and most of those 'artists are manufactured pop singers with professional musicians backing them up. Orianthi on the other hand plays her instrument (and does it well) which may inspire more young girls to give guitar playing a shot. It's always good for the young girls to have something to aspire to beyond Hannah Montana (although Miley Cyrus is a good singer).

I'm happy to see a GIRL actually PLAY her guitar...rather than holding it in her hands and maybe maybe a C shape every now and then.

She played with Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper, Vai... impressive resume at 26. She also started playing at 6 like Randy.

I watched Alice Cooper's Halloween Night of Fear DVD and found irony in Orianthi Panagaris performing with Alice.

Randy Rhoads decided he wanted to be a rock star when his brother took him to see Alice Cooper in 1972... Randy started playing guitar at age 6 and later studied classical guitar... Orianthi started playing guitar at the age of 6 and began studying classical guitar at 10 and later performed with Alice Cooper...

She was born 3 years after Randy died.

I heard a rumor that Orianthi is a former guitarist of Michael Jackson.I have seen a video of her
playing with Steve vai and Joe Satriani in the House of blues. They seem to harmonize very well.
