Kelly Garni's Amazing Bass (little 'part' of Randy in it)
Moderators: Randy Perry, The Flying Dutchman, Stiltzkin, skezza, Trigger
I would like to thank everyone here for being so kind as to appreciate the bass I had made in honor of Randy. Unlike OTHER sites where some disrespect was shown. All of you can see the beauty and how fitting it is. It will only be played on special occasions. I do not keep it in my home, nor do I keep any other memorbillia here as there have been theft issues. And the damn burglers haven't even tried yet! Some wondered why 8 strings. I have been playing 8's for a very long time. I find that it fills up my side of the stage when playing in a one guitar band. Kinda adds another player while keeping the low end there. I have a Dean 8 that I'll tour with but that's why I did an 8 string. I LOVE playing them! I have enduring gratitude to Perry for doing something so great for me. I hope the article in GW takes his business to new heights and that he gets the recognition he deserves. To you, Matt, thank you for putting things into words the importance of a piece of anyone you loved. I suppose there are those who would have thought me less "creepy" had I simply thrown it in the trash. But that's not me. Thank you all!
Kelli I did chime in about the fingernail over at the other place,i for one shouldn't judge why anyone does or keeps anything from anyone-after thinking about it I have some f'd up things I have done and believe in that alot of folks would consider nuts. You kept a finger nail from a friend - I have the busted pieces of a snowmobile windshield from my best friends snowmobile on my shop wall from the accident that took his life as a reminder that today is all we got-enjoy it.Anyhow enough sappyness-Should have kept my thoughts to myself-Sorry,the guitar is amazing btw.

kelly, people react in many different ways when it comes to losing someone they love...they show respect in their own way..when someone dies, automatically your'e expected to go to the wake and go to the funeral to 'SHOW RESPECt'..well im not one of the expected anymore..after seeing 4 close friends of mine on display that was it for me.whatever the deal is, NOBODY has the right or reason to question a person's way of grieving or remembering a friend or loved one...kudos to you for everything you have done to keep randy in our hearts man!bless you amigo..

I had the privilege of watching some of the making of Kelly's bass, and saw first-hand the care that went into its creation. Perry is indeed an artist, and what is more, an artist with heart. Mr. Garni has in his possession an instrument that will become the stuff of legend. I'm sure Randy would approve.

Next to silence, that which comes closest to expressing the inexpressible is Music.
