I think Ozzy's comments has to be taken with a grain of salt.
According Kelly Kevin was the first one Randy called whenever he came back from touring.
(hence Ozzy talked crap about Bob & Lee too when it came to their relation with Randy....)

I don't know Dutch. In my opinion Kevin exaggerated the friendship and used it to promote himself. I mean even in later years he would make sure everyone knew he played with Randy. You also have to remember Randy leaving QR for Ozzy wasnt a smooth thing. I am sure Kevin was bitter and pissed off. I know it took Drew by suprize and he was hurt because Randy wasnt up front as per the documentary interview. Randy and Drew were pretty tight and Drew would've understood things he just felt like it was handled badly. So yes there was bad blood between Kevin and Randy.
As to the reunion shows that was to smooth out the bad blood and give Randy a good sendoff and keep everyones name out there. Soon Kevin formed Dubrow with Drew and then Drew and Kevin had their falling out.
But in my opinion Dutch, Kevin harbored alot of resentment towards Randy until Randy made nice with him. Kevin just wasnt a nice guy until his later years. Even Kelly Garni can attest to that as can Drew and myself. So I think Kevin inflated the reality of the friendship.

Yeah I think if that statement was true we would believe Ozzy. But he has said alot of things which have turned out to be prefabricated crap. If Randy did really hate Kevin, would he of jumped back on stage with Kevin when he came home for a brief spell while DuBrow did a few local gigs. I've never heard Kelli Garni mention that Randy had any bad blood with any Quiet Riot band mates. Even after they had a fight and Kelly fired a gun at Randy. They still remained close friends so i'd say that Randy had more friends then enemies.

I guess I would take anything Ozz has to say about that period in time with a grain of salt. Who knows whether Ozz can even remember anything, if Randy actually did confide in him.
But I must say that Randy was not the type to burn bridges or step on toes, so it's doubtful that he held bad or ill feelings towards Kev. Randy was a nice guy... Afterall, Kev was asked by Randy's family to be a pallbearer at Randy's service. If there really was bad blood, I don't believe Randy's family would have requested Kev to be involved to that extent. I can understand why Ozz was asked, but really how well did the family get to know him over that 2 1/2 year period. I'm guessing not! If there was bad blood, then why would Randy write letters to Kevin asking advice on how to leave the circus legally?
Like some have pointed out, the Osbournes have had some not so nice things to say about many who have had the privilege to work with them.
What we can say for sure is that Randy and Kevin are no longer here to speak their minds about the constant tittle tattle that goes on. I believe that KG has those letters from Randy to Kevin, and I believe that Randy was a pretty stand up person. So what Ozz says makes not difference to me. He and Sharon have said things, and then recanted, time after time, so what's new ?????

But there was indeed a falling out when Randy left for Ozzy. The reunion shows were booked and like I said things got smoothed over. Kevins relationship with the Rhoads family was rocky at best at times. Esp during the Randy Rhoads years CD era. Kevin made alot of empty promises and Kelly Garni and Drew regarding production credits and how much people were going to be paid. It was a mess.
Paiste, this is in no disrespect to your comment, but like I had said previously, Randy and Kev are not here, and the "Randy Rhoads years CD" was made many years after Randy past. People have their opinions, and many have made empty promises on Randy's legacy. I knew Drew, and I'm sure he had hard feelings when Randy left, and when Kev decided for what ever reason,(which I thought was a huge mistake) to replace Drew. Drew was/is very talented, so why would he not have hard feelings. Hopefully that is in history for him. I think Ego has a way of skewing ones opinions, and memory of what had actually occurred in all of these relationships, but I don't believe Ozz is the one to go to for the answers. I am sure things were smoothed over because of the personalities of Randy and Drew. I don't think Kev or Kelly would have been able to see the light without them.

I understand what you're saying and Drew has moved on from that aspect of his life. Although Drew and Kevin never made amends. That I can assure you of. I am sure you may have heard the story of why Drew was replaced in DuBrow. It wasn't for lack of playing ability. It was because of a girl. Kevin got pissed off and that was that.
My point was Randy made nice with Kevin and the rest of the band by doing those reunion shows. He wasn't obligated to but I think Randy kind of felt bad for the guys and wanted things to be cool between everybody. Like I said like a huge sendoff and ending for Quiet Riot and Randy.
But that's just my opinion on it. (shrugs)
