McLowery's solos

Post by McLowery »

My song "Burbank" All tracks and instruments are me. This is my song for the next Randy Rhoads CD Project.

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7735536

My latest multi-track "fun" sessions .

Mr. Crowley I doubled the solos and rythyms quadrupled the interlude. This is mixed to the master tracks from the GH library.

Crazy Train I tracked the guitars playing along with the GH Masters and I tried to brighten the vocal track a bit. 2 guitars on rythym L and R and triple tracked solo. I used Reaper 3 and a countless list of VST plugins.. lol

Mr. Crowley tracked this to a backing track I got off the net in Cubase. 2 rythym tracks.

Diary of a Madman Did the whole tune, multi layered guitars and was expeirementing with cabinet simulation on this. I tried to get the feel of the original.

Believer I double tracked everything, made all the sounds on the guitar and enjoyed it! lol

Revelation (Mother Earth) ending I did two tracks in two takes using Cubase. Pretty proud of how close I got both takes. Tracks are panned hard left and hard right.

OTM guitar solo. I dont use a whammy bar so the end of the solo is a tapping lick I came up with for it.

These are not Randy tunes, just other songs of my youth that I enjoyed re-doing

Bark at the Moon Used the Guitar Hero backing music and VOX. Two tracks in two takes, didn't stop til the end!

Surfing with the Alien no whammy, no problem.. lol

http://share.myflare.com/hDQH4L

Def Leppard (Bringing on the Heartbreak) Pretty good re-dux all guitars doubled and harmonies are really real

Stairway to Heaven solo one of the best captured moments in Page's life.

Thanks everyone!!

Hello Big_P!! I have been wondering where the hell you've been hanging out! LOL I like this place a lot already too..

Stewie, With "Believer" I wanted to try and re-create the eerie sounds and feel of the DOAM version and also incorporate some of the hybrid phrasings Randy created to achieve the song's HUGE feel he had with playing it live. I double tracked the solo and in doing so, while I worked on the solo section I was manipulating EQ and NOISE settings for the backing track and then I saved those sections separate from the rest of the song and didn't notice until it was too late and so the tone and audio do a phase shift type of thing and then goes into the solo with a completely different tone. I did my best to re-eq it as close as possible but that is really impossible 99% of the time.... I'll re-do it in the near future.

I never told anyone about hearing those "things" as I like to call them... hmmmm.. Oh, here comes some more! ...... LOL

So I found this mix of 'I Don't Know" that I did and it has vocals so I thought I'd put it up for you all to hear. The guy that sings does kind of a Jimmy Barnes type approach. pretty cool.
I put the link at the bottom of my first entry up top.

Mike

That was probably one of the best if not the best version of Corwley I have heard.

GREAT job 8) 8)

 Wow... Thanks Matt and Paul. My other version of Crowley has just this terrible harsh tone and it played just once too many times when I log on to my myspace page. So I decided to get one with a half decent tone on it. Thanks for the kind words bros!
