They are the real guitar heros

Good to see you included Sykes, I've been a fan of his since his Tygers days... however, I notice you didn't mention Mr. Michael Schenker or Mr. Rik Emmett.

Schenker influenced SO many of today's "heroes" and even Mr. Rhoads was impressed with the man's playing.

Rik Emmett of Triumph on the other hand is truly unsung. He can play rock, metal, blues and jazz with the best of them AND run around the stage and sing (with a stellar voice) at the same time!

Now when it comes to guitar virtuosos, there is only one name that you need to list to show you know your stuff: Andres Segovia.

It never hurts to meet your guitar heros in person either. I finally met Michael Schenker about a year ago at an autograph signing. I waited 20 years to meet him and he even signed my guitar. There are so many others that I will probably never meet (i.e., Eddie Van Halen) but at least I was able to get that personal touch from one I grew up listening to on the radio. That is the ultimate high for any fan I think...

At a point right after my 3rd surgery, I was kinda depressed and I came across Schenker's website, so I emailed him. He replied with a heartfelt message within about 15 minutes and really lifted my spirits...
