So, how is Randy by far the best ?
You might want to choose your words.
My guess is that both Jake and Brad could play
your ass off blindfolded with their hands tied.

dont worry about it. That guy is going totally to far. Jake and Randy are totally different apples to oranges. You cant really compare em. One is classical one is blues
I liked Bernie's playing and admire the fact that he did his time with no preperation...
Jake was good, but Ozzy's was too synth oriented in those days and Jake didn't stand out enough for my taste.
Brad was good, but he relied too much on the whammy and kind of ruined some songs that way for me.
Zakk, not bad, but I wish he'd lose the spinched harmonics and stay more true to the original when playing Randy's parts.
Joe, I've only heard a little of his stufff, but he sounds true to Randy's originals and he was Randy's student, so it must have been a thrill to be in that setting for him.
I voted for Zakk because he is nutz enough to stay with Ozzy so long! And he never comes over borring on stage when playing with Oz. Good showman. Considering it all like attitude/stage act/playing he fits Ozzy best, mabye even better than Randy. But I like all the players Ozzy had.

Y'know, I was only considering it from a sound standpoint, Zakk does have good stage presence, so in that respect I would put him on the top of the list.

I think he did a great job on that Diary vid!

atleast he used to have.
just checkout the Philadelphia video from '89
Haven't seen that one.
btw I have seen BLS about a year ago, first time I saw Zakk in real but it was a big letdown in every aspect.... and I even left halfway the concert, waste of money. Nice to see he used a Randy PDV for the first song though.
However I have a Philadephia show with Joe Holmes and that one is great. I like that stage also with those two screens with that intro movie, especially when Randy came in with Crazy Train, you can hear the response of the audience on that, everytime a chilly moment.

Thanks for that, never seen before! Great stuff!
Much better than his Budukan solospot. Lot more interesting phrases and much more fire, those were the Zakk days!
Me too like his "pre - beard/spitting beer era" much better!

yeah, it's not that he isn't good now, but the earlier days showed more diversity.

I think we all know who I voted for!!!! LOL I have always been a fan of Brad's playing. I have faithfully followed his carreer all the way through. And not only is he a GREAT guitarist...but he is a real nice guy too!!

Something I just noticed, in that vid Zakk's pedalboard looked a lot like Randy had....
