Paul Wolfe wrote:A documentary about Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone was released theatrically on a very limited film festival run. Now the DVD release is taking time. The news on their website says:

"We are working very hard to get the film to DVD. The delay is due to music licensing and the costs and legal issues involved for use outside of film festivals. We are doing all in our power to make the release happen for everyone. I want to thank you for your patience and for your support. I'll make this happen, it's just taken more time than expected due to unforeseeable complications."
I posted that in a thread about Peter Margolis' Randy Rhoads documentary back in January of 2008. I've been looking forward to seeing this documentary for ages because I'm a big fan of Mother Love Bone...

Today I watched it and was overwhelmed with emotion. I lived through that era in Seattle and clearly remember March 19th, 1990 when a radio announcement broke the news that Andy had died. He died of an overdose of heroin (as with many Seattle musicians have)... after watching this documentary, I understand why he used drugs. I don't condone the use of drugs but, at least in this case, I understand it. This film brought back that time in my life so vividly...

It took a long time for this film to be made and released, but it was worth the wait. If Peter can make his documentary as good as this one, it will be great...

Here is the trailer and here is the website about the film.
