Al Di Meola

Anyone else like this guy, I knew about him a couple of years ago but recently properly listened to him and the guys awesome. Listen to Elegant Gypsy its so fresh and was really surprised to find it was released in 1977. Great album.

Al is maybe the first guitarist I was aware of who was extremely proficient at alternate picking, just an awesome player. The live album he did with Paco and John Mclaughlin is off the hook great!!

I have not checked that album out yet, Ive only listened to elegant gypsy and land of the midnight sun and I have loved them. I think he lacks a bit of feel but the phrasing is out of this world at times.

Yeh Di Meola is great. I have FNISF on cd it's great. His picking is flawless.
