Great Britain and 20th century Classical music composers

Post by Cpt Matt Sparrow »

This is a thread to celebrate some of the finest composers from Great Britain, this last hundred years :)

Many rock guitarists understand the term 'Classical', as something that is full of minor chords, diminished runs etc etc. What they have come to call Classical is in fact Baroque :) ; and even then, the neo classical rock guitarists like Malmsteen, only use superficial and often stereotypical ideas from the period.
This is not representative of the 500 years serious western art, or Classical music. This thread is to just give another musical perspective.

If you are not familiar with modern Classical music. the excepts from below are a great place to start. Of course these are just British examples. There is a wealth, and variety of styles, from an array of countries, unlike any other period!

This is Vaugham Williams' Fantasia on a Theme By Thomas Tallis. This is just beauftiful.
