Birth of "Speed Metal"
I am wondering what you think is the original speed metal song or band...
The first true speed-metal double bass drum I remember hearing is Fast As A Shark by Accept on the Restless and Wild album which came out in June of 1982...
Is this the first speed metal song?

Accept was definitely one of the pioneers. Not to forget early Metallica with Mr. Mustaine.
But I always thought that the speed part at the end of 'Revelation mother Earth' (Blizzard of Ozz) was a step in that direction as well. That was metal before metal even was born.
