So the wife had on CMT.com and we watched about an hour of Brad Paisley's videos. Now I want to put away my metal records and learn to play country guitar.
The first time I heard
Paisley was after
Guitar World did a piece on him. I wanted to learn country guitar then, but there's just not much in the way of instructional stuff that's geared towards that stuff. Last night I found some country PowerTabs and some videos on
youtube, so that'll keep me busy for a while...
Maybe I should head over to Guitar Center and try to exchange my Les Paul for a Telecaster?

NO comments at all? not even a negative one? Hmmmm....
What if I say Brad Paisley is as good at what he does as Randy Rhoads was at what he did?

brad grew up right across the river from where i live . i could be at his parents house in about fifteen minutes. a friend of mine went to school with him. he said he used to bring his guitar to school with him sometimes, and he also said that he is a really great person. the kind of guy that really thanks god for what he has accomplished. it's hard to believe that he rode the streets in my town as a teen, having no idea what would be in store for him. god works in mysterious ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He seems like a humble guy. Randy Rhoads seemed humble as well... and they both smoke the guitar...
I was listening to a live show of Brad Paisley this afternoon and he really can rip. It's a totally different style than what Randy did, but very intense all the same. I've read that he learned both country and rock guitar growing up (as well as jazz). I kept waiting for him to thro some tapping into a solo, but it just never happened.

I dig Brad. My best buddy is a country NUT so I've naturally heard them man too. He's pretty awesome. I've always loved country and Southern Rock playing.
