Tony Iommi
only Iommi is the founding Metal Guitarist, black sabbath was the founder of metal
no way were page or blackmore metal guitarists they were just rock guitarists
the only thing that blackmore and Iommi have in common is they used blues styles in their playing.

I take back my last message. I think Richie Blackmoore has also had a huge impact on metal. People like Yngwie, MacAlpine and even Randy, I can always hear a lot of Blackmoore in their playing. Like the start of the 2nd Mr Crowley solo, or bits in Steal Away's solo. I think Iommi had an effect on every one but Blackmoore had an effect more on the Classical zone.
Hmm yes Randy's versions were good but it sonded weird...just not Sabbath-likeStiltzkin wrote:somethings tells me that they wouldn't have done thatTrigger wrote:I only wish we had had a chance to hear Randy play more Sabbath tracks.
