That is how I remember them when I first saw them in 1983, I got all my albums and a few posters signed at a record shop the afternoon before the show.
I read a few weeks ago that Leonard (my hero) Haze is out of the band now  , if thats the case I won't be going to see them when they play here again. I was surprised that they had even been back to Britain, I thought they were so low key now that they only played around the Bay area.

Which year are these photo's shaun 82 or 83, you don't get too many idaes from that nasty fashion!!! spandex  :?

I would have love to know what the post Randy shows might have sounded like had the Y&T front man had got the guitar job? although I don't think it would have been better than Brad's stint in the band.

Ian these are from the 1982 tour when they supported AC/DC. The photo at the top right is from the second night note the Leppard skin shirt sexy or wot with spandex..How could you fail to bring the groupies flocking to the back stage door.
The promo photo with the signatures on was from a record signing at virgin records 1983.Did you notice the plectrums they are from the first time i seen them in 82. The live pic at the bottom is from 1983 when they did the headlining tour with Rock Goddess as support. That was new news to me about Leornard Haze quitting. It'll be the Dave Meniketti band before long.

Hey Shaun

The 83 tour with Rock Godess, I have a story about that. I was in line getting signatures and the last 3 people were Rock Godess. Myself anf the guitarist were talking and she asked if I played in a band myself, I mentioned I was a drummer and she said, this is my sister and she plays drums in the band! why don't you two talk? well we did for about 20 minutes and as I said my goodbyes she asked if I would meet her after the show for a few drinks, I said OK and went off with my friends. After the show eneded my mates gave me so much stick that I didn't bother meeting up with her.
It wasn't until I saw these pictures that I remembered that 'what could have been' story!

Well you were there Shaun what did you think of them? imho they were one of the best rock acts around during the early 1980's.
I know that it didnt mention Lenny on drums with Y&T now, but I do know that he has left them and returned a couple of times since the mid 80's. I never bought any Y&T stuff without him as it isn't Y&T without Lenny!
I was in the 'Hard Rock Cafe' in London in the early 90's and Leonarard Haze came in for lunch with a couple of friends, he was humble and looked like the rock star life was in the very distant past.

Ian i'm a bit like yourself i've never bought any of the new Y&T albums the last one i heard was Black Tiger and Mean Streak.I sort of went off them but they would give any band a run for their money. They've been touring and playing for a long time they deserve all the credit they get. They may look old but they still knock out a good tune. When you mentioned the story about Rock Goddess it brought back memories of a girl fronted band from Australia... Cheetah..remember them they supported Saxon and they were on the bill at the Reading Rock festival in '82.The two sisters fronted the band and they would get some kid out of the crowd and sexually seduce him on stage what a laugh. They got a good response from the Reading crowd the bottles came from every direction. The bass player was doing a bit of a boogie solo and someone pelted an apple at him and it landed with such a DANK!.. straight into his bass bridge..He tried to carry on with this apple stuck between his strings and failed miserabley.Trying his best to play and unpick the apple at the same time, what a laugh..Its strange how your memory remembers mad stuff..
