Roy Marchbank-A Huge of influence of mine...

Post by Cpt Matt Sparrow »

Hi everyone

I put this up before the time out period.

This guy is a Scottosh musician who plays a heavily customised Yamaha Guitar. I have his debut, and to date, only album and I rank him as one of my favourite electric guitarists.

See what you think

Yes, Matt, I did listen to Roy, I just thought it'd be funny to show a HUGE guitar!

Remember the discussion we had about Paul Gilbert? That is how Roy Marchbank is to me. I appreciate his talent and definitely understand your interest in him, but he's not my cup of tea. Really, anything that's not country or Skynyrd isn't my cup of tea (shot of whiskey?) these days. I do appreciate you sharing him with us, though. It's always good to hear new players.

Paul,

I love Paul Gilbert (Borat style pregnant pause...........NOT!)
Jeez Paul you lay in waiting for your Paul gilbert revenge LOL

I am on a bit of a twang kick too at the moment. I love plugging my Gretsch or Telecaster and doing bad Ricky Skaggs impressions or pretending I am Brian Setzer. Incidentally I saw Brian Setzer recently...

a strange audience. Much of thew audiences look was half like a character from the American comedy Happy Days except with bigger quiffs and tatooes!

Setzer is incredible! I must say I much prefer his Stray Cats days over his Brian Setzer Orchestra stuff, although the latter is great stuff.
