Being a Guitar Teacher, myself, I can tell you that tabs will always find a way to new sites and even people who read notes ( like myself ) realize that tabs are more practical for playing guitar solos in the higher octaves, than say looking at notes 5 ledger lines off of the staff.
But it's important to apply technique and theory to explain the blueprint of the artist thinkng rather than just regurgitating his licks.

Kill all tabs. sorry to everyone who uses it but I seriously think that learning by ear develops you like 5x as much then playing tabs (well atleast tabs of like songs and stuff. if you wanna learn warm up excresises and theory by all means you tabs if you want)

learning by ear is important. i agree. this isnt really about that for me, its about the MPA trying to stiff every last penny out of the music players etcRhoadsFan wrote:Kill all tabs. sorry to everyone who uses it but I seriously think that learning by ear develops you like 5x as much then playing tabs (well atleast tabs of like songs and stuff. if you wanna learn warm up excresises and theory by all means you tabs if you want)
