I was saddened to hear that Phil had died and twice in one week we lose a link to randy. For those who don't know he was motorheads drummer on their biggest hits and toured with randy across the USA and, one of randys best shows was supporting them in Portvale uk in 1981.

He was part of what made me love rock music and was a real influence on types of playing that came later, a link between punk and metal, and then to thrash metal.

Sleep well Phil

I was saddened to read the news about the Philthy Animal as well. I was also disappointed that Lemmy used the news to be political and take a shot at George Bush.

"Fast" Eddie said it well:

"My dear friend and brother passed away last night.
He had been ill for sometime but that does not make it any easier when the time finally comes. I have known Phil since he was 21 and he was one hell of a character. Fortunately we made some fantastic music together and I have many many fond memories of our time together. Rest in Peace, Phil!

Here's the link...

Lemmy said: "It really pisses me off that they take somebody like him and leave George Bush alive."

I was watching one of Lemmy's last interviews and i was surprised to hear him mention that Phil Taylor was in the wrong company and using the wrong drugs as Lemmy put it and it was probably the down fall of his demise. I know Lemmy was an habitual user of amphetamine and was totally anti-heroin. But these are the side of a rock star that are kept under lock and key and its not 'til somone over doses you get to here they are dependent on their vices to carry on etc.
I never knew Phil had an anuerysm back in 2012 and he came back to the UK to be looked after by his sisters. That was something that never made the news and i was very surprised to hear this as some people don't bounce back from this, sadly it wasn't long after that he died. He was a character and an inspiration to many lets hope he's with Lemmy and catching up on old times and having a laugh.
