Funny story... the "specialist" I saw planned a steroid injection to help with my hip pain but never called to schedule it (maybe the insurance refused it?)... At the beginning of December I picked up a cold from my daughter which turned into pneumonia. During a particularly rough coughing fit I felt an excruciating 'pop' in my hip and the next day the pain was dramatically reduced.

It seems that in addition to the labrum tear sen in the MRI, my hip was also partially dislocated and the coughing popped it back into place. I can now walk normally without a cane and I'm exercising regularly as well as looking for work. There is still some pain from the tear depending on how I move, but all in all things are looking up.

have you consulted with the doctor? Or a specialist? Sounds serious. Since it's been months now . Hope you get well quick.

Since I don't check this section often, I missed this! Glad to hear things are looking up, Paul! Isn't it odd how some pain will sometimes make way for a bigger breakthrough? Sorry you had to go through that, but happy to hear that you're walking without a cane!

Best of luck getting work and mending in a healthy fashion, man!

Last week I was worried that the problems had returned. My left knee suddenly started hurting like mad and my hip as well. However, a couple days rest and all is well. I'm thinking the tendons in my knee were rebelling against the squats (or the fact that I took a 4 day break from them and then started again). I just need to slow down a bit and realize full health will come, it's just going to be slow.

Thanks for the well wishes, by the way.
