R.I.P. Ronnie Montrose

Ronnie died at age 66 after a battle with prostate cancer... Here is an article on him.

I was never a HUGE fan, but I did enjoy his playing and have a couple 'rare' CDs of rehearsals he did with Montrose (Sammy sounded wasted in the studio :D)

Randy was a fan of Ronnie.

Another great guitarist who's sadly not with us anymore. I remember seeing Ronnie with his 'Gamma' project back in the 80's. He turned a few heads that night and was a great talent. RIP Ronnie

Yes very sad, I saw him in the 70's on the Warner Brothers UK tour, in Montrose, they were great.

It has now been reported that Ronnie was suffering from depression before his death. Here is the article which confirms it.
