As Tommt hasn't replied yet I will jump in, They do celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December like we do in Britain and the USA. Although in some Europian countries like Holland and Sweden I believe they have other celebrations as well that are conected to old St Nick :) .

In Holland we always celebrate christmas at dec. 25 and 26th.
Not sure if other countries also have two christmas days?

In our family we never do presents then, just one or two good dinners. To be honest I don't care that much for religion but those two days off are always welcome! :)

We have another celebration day called "Sinterklaas" at 5 december, we do the presents then. But it's more a celebration for children. "Sinterklaas" is a holy man comming from spain on a white horse and giving children all kind of presents. Here in Holland about 70% (I estimate) do presents with "Sinterklaas" and the others do presents with christmas. Some do presents on both but those are not many. I'm not that rich btw! However doing presents at christmas is becomming more popular here .
