After an appalling world cup from England, I am looking forward to tonight's friendly against Hungary. Fabio Capello, as a part of his agreement to stay on, has promised new fresh blood in the England squad (they looked so tired and done in, in South Africa).

oh dear...

recovery for england will take a long time, younger players dont get a lookin these days whether for club or country. The talent is there but its getting a little late in the day to nurture it IMO.

I dont think things are going to change anytime soon, i expect that when the "real" matches start we will once again be watching the same old overpayed drama queens.

To be fair after watching the game last night i was impressed.

the players were actualy moving, making space, stretching the oposition... i havent seen that in years.

All of the young players were impressive and Gerrard played like he actualy gave a shit. In fact the team actualy played like they cared

Gerrard really played like a hero didn't he, while Rooney sarcastically clapped his booing fans. From there point of view; he is a bloody striker who hasn't scored for the best part of a sodding year! LOL

Germany will dominate. I still believe that Spain got LUCKY with Mueller being tossed from the match. And also, their best defender Puyol will be ancient by the time this competition starts.

On the left is my German friend Michael who we met on holiday. Being German, he had great fun winding us up. At one point he said to an American shop keeper at Disney; "do you guys have soccer? There was a fantastic game in the world cup, with England and Germany LOL

He also said "in Germany we have a joke...will England ever win the world cup again? ..yes, on the play station!"

LOL, my Dad always likes to say that the English see the Germans as rivals whereas the Germans don't. "In order to be rivals, you need to be on the same level."
