Bands you love, but wouldn't tell your mates :P

Post by skezza »

So the topic title says it all!

Which bands do you really like but just wouldn't tell anyone that you like... Something along the lines of 'would lose you more buddies round the office water cooler than gain'...

So currently, mine has to be Stryper. I mean, I saw a lot of negative shit about them over at TK when I was a member (don't think I've seen them mentioned much here) and I joined in a bit of the bashing, having not really heard much of their stuff... but I mean, some of their tunes are so catchy and I really do believe Michael Sweet and Oz Fox are underrated guitarists. The band as a whole are underrated as musicians, but I mean... seriously, some of their tunes are just so cheezy. Some are brilliant, but some even have me cringing and I used to like Warrant... so that says a lot!

Lets hear your demons :P

Good grief Tito  Did you where eye shadow and a skinny tie in the 80's ? j/k I detested Duran Duran back when they were 'cool', but thought I'd give them a listen again recently. Had a chance to download Rio. Gave it a good listen, but just not for me. I've recently heard Tear For Fears' Everybody Wants To Rule World after many years, and have to say that was a really great song. I'd have slapped myself for admitting that publicly back in the day. Other guilty music pleasures would be Jimmy Buffet, John Denver and Enya :P

Joe, nothing wrong with Stryper, dude. They were big with my friends, as we were in a very small, strict Lutheran High School when they came out. It was great having something you could almost listen to with getting dirty looks while in the weight room at school. I'm going to have to drag out my vinyl again. Don't have them in any other format. Great Topic.

It's funny you mention breakdancing; Breakin' and Elctric Bugaloo have been on the pay channels non-stop for about a month now LOL!

Actually, yes, Tears for Fears, I used to love Mad World. LOL!! Dear oh dear. I don't mind a bit of Joy Division. Love will tear us apart is a great song.

Boy that is a hard one...I know all the bands mentioned so far by the way. Stryper had Soldiers Under Command. Great title song. I wouldn't tease them as they are currently recording a covers album (as of March 6th). And guess what- they are going to do a cover of Over the Mountain. I've been delving into a little of everything these days. I even rediscovered the Danish-Norwegian band called Aqua. Embarrassing? Maybe, but Lene Nystrom is HOT!! (They sang the song Barbie Girl by the way). I'm sure there are others but I'll think about it some more before I post it up...

Michael Sweet is one of the most amazing vocalist in hard rock, I saw them on "The Soldiers Under Command" tour and he was just incredible, didn't miss a single note. As far as something people might be surprised with, I actually like Taylor Swift, she may not be the greatest singer in the world, but she has worked her butt off since she got her record deal. I have also always been partial to ABBA (fantastic vocals) and Duran Duran (Andy Taylor really wanted to rock)

I have a soft spot for Britney! I know I shouldn't but I just can't help it, since her first single I have just liked her songs :? I have loads of Odd stuff and I have to admit I think that Alex enjoys some great Un-Randy type stuff.
