Hi ladies and UR gentlemen

I know we are all ultimately mongrels, but what country/countries do you family originate from ie family tree?

My family from both sides go back to Wales originally. Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta Jones, Clive Owen are famous people that are Welsh. A lot of people say that the Welsh are dark because of the invasion by the moors.

My parents/grandparents were from Yorkshire and Liverpool (North Of England) and then my parents settled in London, England.

I wish I knew. I am adopted and know nothing of my biological history. I like to think I hail from Krypton ;)

Paul, we may be related! 2002, I was lucky enought to have found some info on my biological mother and where she was. Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to go and see her to get more information.

The only thing that I know about my "background" is that they were of Irish decent.

My dad recently got into genealogy, as that's what guys his age get into. That and stamp collecting. Anyway, I am primarily Korean and German. However, when you go FAAAAR back, I am Manchurian (with some North Korean in there) and a little Scottish and if you go even FUUUURRRTHER back, I am French Huguenot.

Well, very English but with more than a suspicion of the Middle East being our Ultimate origin, this is something I plan to workout when I have more time.

My mother's side came from county Cork in Ireland, immigrated to Nova Scotia, then down into New England.
My father's side from Lithuania and England, then immigrating to NY then to New England.
Alex, that is some truly stunning countryside!

My parents are obsessed with geneology and never shut up about it, its their number one hobby LMAO.

But as a result i do know about my origins.

To quickly surmise: My immediate family is 100% English; Geordie and Cockney. Beyond that i know my mothers line of the family came from Prussia (Germany) and Belgium. I also possibly have Romanian blood in me.

I'd ask more but i dont want to get my ear talked off LOL

Ditto, that looks beautiful. I'd love to visit Scandinavia someday. Genealogy is very interesting, isn't it? Before I learned about my family's heritage, I always thought my background was simple: Korean, German. But then to find out that the Korean and German actually come from places that aren't exactly Korea or Germany (places like Manchuria and France, even though my Dad doesn't like to admit it! LOL) is fascinating. Here is an interesting article that claims that at least 16 million people are descendents of Genghis Khan!

Oddly enough, one of my good friend's family left Russia during the pogroms. Her little sister was born with the Mongolian spot (wiki that term...it is extremely rare amongst whites and non-Asians). So imagine that! Ashkenazi Jews with Hun and Mongolian heritage. 8)
