Dear Friends

It's been great here, made friends, made new friends, talked about everything, even used this site as a kind of blog as well, to let you know on my journey in life. You all have supported me in times of grief for loss of family members, my worries, my dreams, everything... I come to think of you all as the family, I'll never get to meet, (well not just yet anyways ;) )

I also got to achieve one of my dreams to be part of Post-Rhoads History, or basically, I wrote a poem in memory of our Randy and as the older members remember, I recieved a letter from Delores and Kathy Rhoads as a thank you, as the poem was passed on to the family by our own Gina (Sarab) and Frank. The letter held such strong words that I have kept imprinted on my heart since. Not much for such an epic thing as Post Rhoads History, but at least, I took part and done my part to keep his memory alive and be rewarded in return.

We are all part of it, we are family, we all took part in our bit to keep Randy's memory alive, whether its just a simple salute to the "Electric Angel" or participated in Matt's Randy Rhoads Project CD, to the eccentric youtube videos, we all dedicate to the big man, in some way.

Now in family, we have members we dislike, members youre embarrassed to be related to, or members who act like spoilt brats, but the truth is they are our blood, thus, Randy Rhoads members, we may not
like certian members, but we keep it in the family, we dont drag everyone else down with the fighting okay?

This Documentary seems to be the latest thing that has caused a lot of bitching, fighting, acting like two vampires fighting over a bloodbag, all I got to say is this, stop the fighting, stop bitching about whos done what or who done what, i dont give a flying merekat what the problems are, or who started it, who did what, point is, we do what we do, and we leave it at that, you wanna fight about it? Go have a fight elsewhere, I am sick to death of seeing members bitching. It's upsetting and sad, and hey, I thought we were adults?

I for one, will be one of the members who will buy this Peter Margolis documentary when it comes out, why? yeah P.M has shown some bitterness, but I wanna see what he has done, as a filmmaker, I wanted to make a documentary about Randy myself, but found no contacts or didn't even know where to begin, now being on a degree Film and Television Production course for a year (which by the way I got 5 Bs and 3 Cs for my end of year results) I would be interested to see how a documentary about one of my heroes is made, in essence i'm not only looking forward to seeing the actual film, but the behind the scenes of it too (I hope it will be on the DVD) but, I can wait, whenever it will surface this documentary, it will come in it's own accord, so let's wait... and hey, as for me and my documentary idea, I might make another (different) documentary, one day...

Now look, people, I want you to just do me a favour, do yourselves one if you think I'm just the little man, just stop the arguing over petty shit, I've already came close to leaving this message board because it's not the same as it once was, don't completely destroy what's left okay guys? If you have a disagreement, sort it out in PMs okay? PMs as in Private Messaging not Pass My Shotgun... If it gets too much and you feel you're loosing the war, then is it really worth fighting for? drop out and be a man, or if you're a woman fighting, be a woman!

We're all equals here, because we have one thing in common, we are all behind a computer screen. Remember that people.

We're not gauls, we don't fight with fish, we fight with fingers, just we gotta learn to remember to clench our fists and stop typing for a sec.

I close this with saying that I hope I have not offended anyone, but I wanted to let this out now, before I (I know I am only one member, not much of a loss, but still, we guys gotta stick together) end up leaving the boards permanently.

Take care everyone, may all your gods, no matter what colour, race, age, sex, fictional or not, bless you all.

Simon

Beautifully written, well thought out sentiment, Simon.

All I can say is, it won't change anything. It is human nature to behave the way people behave here. When I go out to smoke at work, everyone is bitching about how much the company sucks and how much the customers suck and how much management sucks. Do they say, "I'm having a hard day, but at least I have a job"? Of course not. Are they happy to not be unemployed? Yes, but human nature tends to focus on the negative.

I am with my mum at the moment and she just reminded me of an old saying from Yorkshire, where my immediate family are from (North of England), 'theres nowt as queer as folk, but there's nothing wrong with thou and me, but come to think of it thee is a little strange'
In other words none of us are perfect, or normal!

It is what makes us interesting I suppose. My mum was just saying how going back 100 years and further we are Welsh. I have been pulling her leg saying how my great mother was a sheep LMAO...bhaahhhh :)

Anyway back to the subject. Simon, the hardest, yet most positive thing I have done recently was chop lots of Randy Rhoads friends off facebook. I was just fed up with the negativity from the sites spilling into another bit of my internet life. It was nothing personal against anyone.
We all get a little stir crazy with all the nonsense sometimes. What makes me want to keep posting here is the family atmosphere you mentioned, the leg pulling and also the positive things like the Lee Kerslake interview! I am just going to let it all go over my head and concentrate on the many positives of the site...and there are many!

Simon, Paul, Matt

The worst thing that can be done is to take the internet seriously! It isn’t real life! Real life is your home family and that one special person who makes you feel warm inside. I do enjoy observing the push and pull of these forums but everyday is a pinch of salt day! I like my friends here and I care about them when they are unhappy.

But (to you Simon) remember that none of this is real apart from understanding that you do have friends, maybe the fact that none of us see this as real is why some become infuriated? Regardless of that yes we are friends but these attacks on us are not to be taken seriously or to be worried about!
I enjoy taking an overview and watching how people behave UR is a microcosm of all that is good and bad in the world, we are like a little country, sometimes we are in the news and inundated and at other times it is quiet, but its never real, the part that is real is the warmth that some friendships have brought to us all.

The music of Randy Rhoads is what's real to me.

I love these boards both UR and even TK, like the board for the vip's tht participate and answers some questions, but hate some of the mod, but you are right with what you said of these bords being like a little city, just like a real city there are friends & foes, we can't all be expected to love each other, some of us may never get along, and some of us may become best friends that even spill over in real life, it's similar to the real world in those respects. there's alot of different people in the world and not all can get along, but usually given enough space, most people can at least be civil with each other even if they have to agree to disagree. i'm greatful that there's boards like this and even tk for randy fans and vips to have a place to all get together and communcate information about the music & life of randy rhoads.

Arguments come and go. When I see them erupt I just sit and wait for it to end. People like to argue on the internet because it's anonymous. It's like that person that throws that beer into the audience just to piss people off. "Hey, who threw that?" It may work initially but I believe in Karma. What you send out you get back in return. Try to hurt people and it will seem like the whole world is out to get you. I don't leave message boards just because one person is acting up. Randy is the reason I'm here. I can't think of a better reason to stay.
