Old/Retro TV shows

I have been catching up on the kind of stuff I used to watch as a kid and teenager.
On my last birthday I got a 'Steptoe & Son' complete DVD box set which was fantastic. This show was re-made in the USA as 'Stanford & Son' I haven't seen the US version but heard that it was pretty good.

In the past few weeks I have been watching old re-runs of 'Taxi' with Danny Davito, Judd Hirsch & Cristopher Lloyd that show is fantastic and still has one of my favorite theme tunes.

Another is from the late 1980's ealy 90's 'The Wonder Years' which is really cool, as a man I can see the things the main charector went through and really can relate to them.

Do any of you have old favorites or enjoy the ones I mentioned?

When I was a kid I used to love this I was about 9/10 and I would fly around the streets on my bike imagining I was driving the big red Torino! we would talk about the latest episode at school then, it was the biggest thing on TV.
Now as an adult I am a really careful driver who doesn't speed and really obeys the speed limits due to the amount of driving I do for work. When the 'Starsky & Hutch' film came out Jessica and I got preview tickets. I really loved it, seeing that car sliding around the streets and flying through the air! 8)
BUT when I left the cinema I was driving along high on the action and laughs and loving how I had just seen the old S&H actors alongside the new ones.
Jessica grabbed my arm and asked if I was going to slow down!! I had slipped back to the young Ian and left the cinema throwing the car around the corners like I used to with my old bike

I had resisted buying the S&H DVD'd because I didn't want to realise it wasn't as good as I remember it being as a kid.
So, is it as good as it all those years ago Paul?

Does

Y'know, it is as good as I remember. My wife never saw the show on TV and she really enjoys it. She normally makes jokes about anything '70's, but quite often when there is nothing on TV she'll suggest watching a couple old Starsky & Hutch episodes.

Another show i recently got on DVD is SHAZAM which is CHEESEY!! It takes me back, though. I also have The Wacky Races, Dastardly and Muttley and H.R. Pufenstuff on DVD. The old days were so much better than most of the current CSI stuff on TV.

The show I want on DVD but isn't available is North of 60 which was on Canadian television in the 90's. It was a drama set in a village north of the 60th parallel in the Canadian arctic.

there was a gerat line on an early one the other day. Del and Rodney eyed these two women up (who were obviously not the best lookers in the world). Del selflessly points to the least attractive and says something along the lines of "there you are Rodders, there is your one"..

Rodney replied back "Do I look like St George" LMAO
