Thinking of my lovely friend Gina today

When I turned the British news on today I heard that New Orleons has been evacuated due to the storm that ripped up Cuba over night.
I understand that this storm is stronger than Katrina and they fear the results could be far worse. For those of you who don't know Gina (Sarab) lives in the neighboring parish to NO and was flooded out during the last big storm due to the pumps being left idol.
I want you to know Gina that I am thinking of you Mike and the girls and hope you and the house come through this OK. Please stay safe and let us know that you are OK as soon as this all passes.
So again, I am sending all Mine and Jessica's love to you.

I was going to make a post about this!
I am safe and at my sister's house in Lynn Haven, Florida.
What normally takes me 5 1/2 hours, took me 14 hours! I left home at 5:30 pm, and got
here at 7:30 am.
What normally takes 45 minutes, took me 6 1/2 hours! It was like a parking lot, but it was not
road rage, either. For once, we were courteous to each other. We had breakfast, and I went to take a little nap
around 11:00 am. Woke up at 1:00 pm when my sister-in-law called, and fell back to sleep, and woke up at 3:30.
Mike stayed in Slidell (which is the 45 minute landmark) with his friend, who is an EMT/Fireman for Slidell & Gretna, LA.
He was supposed to go to his mom's in Picayune, MS as of 9:30 this morning, but he would let me know if he was
going to come my way.
Anyway, I am nervous as anything. Y'all can go to these websites to check it out:
www.wwltv.com
www.wdsu.com
those are local tv stations.
and
www.nola.cam.
I live in Jefferson Parish; eastbank.
Thank you all for thinking of me, and I will check in later. I am using my brother-in-law's
computer, so..... I can always use my iPod!
Love to all

thanks everyone. At this time, 10:36 pm it is 222miles from
N.O., category 3, winds at 115mph. It is expected to make
landfall around sometime in the morning, and slow down.
It has slowed down now, which means more rain dumping
on the city. The actual landfall is to be in Houma, LA. Not
far from me, but on the other side of the Mississippi river.
I'll be sleeping with one eye open tonight.

Well Gina is this the calm before the storm the News has just been on and they said that the wind speed (115mph) and storm have caused very little damage. They predicted the worse and thank God! the weathermen got it wrong. The full force of the storm didn't hit NO it passed over on the edges of the storm. But the fear of the levies breaking are still a big worry as the rain fall has been measured at 20" in the last 48 hours and still rising. They showed the Missisippi river and showed the water lapping over the tops of the levies.I was very surprised that 10,000 people have decided to sit it out ? 95% of the population have been evacuated.Laffeyette was on the TV is that any where near you Gina. But the bad news is not over another Hurricane is on its way Hurricane Hannah..This is on the path of Ghustav out in the Gulf..Shit
