hey everyone. i've had a very hectic couple of days which tonight resulted in me auditioning for a band in my local area. I didn't really know what to play so i played part of randys spotlight solo and a bit of no bone movies.

they gave me the gig in a splitsecond!

so once again thankyou mr rhoads, the ability of your solo spot to win hearts in auditions clearly transcends time...but is it any surprise

*they've also got a small record deal, so ive gotta work as kinda a session musician next week laying down some solos before writing new stuff after that!!!!!!!!! :D i am very happy

the lesson from this event IF YOU WANT YOUR AUDITION TO GO WELL PLAY SOME OF RANDYS SOLO SPOT ... it clearly is magical

Well done, I think that just goes to show how it bit of Mr Rhoads is still considered/discovered to be current, even with all the music that has followed him in the nearly 26 years since we lost him.

Well done RP

I think it will. His music is so timeless. I wasnt trying to be a dick by saying that comment either by the way. I play parts of that solo when I want to impress aswell, and your right, it works like a charm! :D

YEs, I think he will be discovered time and time again. I also think that because 'Diary' has aged so well it could be another few years before that starts to date.

its ok i know you was joking, it was a weird audition though i think they were looking for technique more than style, thats why i went for some randy stuff
