My Jack Russell Ringo had to stay overnight at the vets on Saturday after eating what was a potentially fatal, but small amount of chocolate. Fortunately mum was in the room at the time and knowing that chocolate can be poisonous phoned the vet immediately. He was at the surgery within 40 minutes of eating the chocolate. Nevertheless he had to have a poweful drug to induce vomiting and had to be monitored throughout the night. He is now home and well but had he eaten the chocolate while we were out, or had I not been aware of the dangers it could have been a very different story. Mum and I now realise through telling friends and family about the incident that too many people are not aware of the risks. Please let people know to help avoid further distress to others. Not to mention the vet bill of £63.54 which made it a very expensive half bar of chocolate.
Moral of the story: Don't let your dog eat chocolate
As for cat lovers, dont give them grapes, grapes contain a high amount of potassium which can be harmful for cats!

P.S Ringo has recovered

I dont know why a cat would eat grapes but heck, my old cat tabatha who lived till she was 22 ate anything, chips, cheese, ham, pizza bits, ya name it she loved it!
But mum told me to warn people that cats shouldn't eat grapes.

IMO = In my opinion.
I knew about the chocolate. Did you know that asprin can kill a cat?
And no matter how many times we've seen it on tv, dogs can not blow bubble gum bubbles out of their ass.

My old Beagle ate like...5 HUGE chocolate chip cookies and he was fine.

He seriously had an indescuctible stomach.
I hope your dog will be alright. Dogs are awesome.
