Global Warming

Post by RR-ElectricAngel »

I'm not one to tie myself to trees or protest for clean air (though I have thought about it) but this Spring weather is just nuts. Here in San Antonio we had another freak cold spell. Rain, rain, rain, cold, cold, cold... give me a break already. Mother Nature needs to make up her mind. Are the locusts coming too? :?

I know what you mean! I'm not too far from you, so what ever you get, we get later! A co-worker said that her brother, who lives in Michigan, said that they're getting snow and expecting to get another 10 inches tonight! I actually welcome the cold weather, as the summer is waaayyy too hot and humid for me. But, that's what I get for living down here, along with the damn hurricanes! btw, the hurricane season starts June 1, are you ready RR-electric angel?

before I give a reply to this very interesting subject can I ask this? if either of you live below sea level on/after June 1st, put your special things above it! I believe it will get rougher before it gets back to something normal-ish.

I'm the fool that lives below sea level!
And if I have to leave again, I don't have much to begin with, so
all of it should fit nicely into my car or truck!

Oh, don't worry, Ian, I'll be calling A LOT of people!
I will tell you this, I'll let ya'll know if I'm fleeing for higher ground.
Last time, when we left, I text messaged a few people in the morning, and it took several hours to get to them, and several hours for me to get messages! But, I will keep everyone informed! Thanks for the offer, Ian.
Anyone else?

Shaun, I'm really not too sure. 2006 we were lucky; none came our way.
2004 had Ivan. I remember 1998 brought Georges. I'd say that we may have gone 3 years without a MAJOR hurricane coming directly to Louisiana. From what the "experts" say, that because of some "el nino" or "la nina" or whatever it is this year, we are supposed to have a very active season this year, with 17 named storms, with 5 being intense or major hurricanes. (winds being over 111mph).
Since we should be getting back in our house next month, I'm not going to go hog wild on decorating it. Just the basic stuff.
I'm still looking for volunteers in beer drinking & food eating...

Ya know, you haven't lived until you start to plan a hurricane party only to have it interrupted by a mandatory evacuation!

Gina i just read this statement from WASP's Blackie Lawless
The last six years in America has been an unbelievable ride. After September 11th I was never more proud to be an American. (After going to New Orleans and seeing the devastation and abandonment of that great city by its own Federal Government I was never more ashamed to be an American).
Thats a bit of a statement coming from a man who i thought was more American then Cherry pie.I went to see them in concert last night and he even mentioned in a 5 minute protest about pulling our boys English and American out of the Iraq and Afghanistan war zones.I think he (Blackie) was a Vietnam war veteran..Blackie for President...LOL!

Thanks, Shaun, for that! Blackie Lawless for president?
Not a bad idea! After all, we had a former actor for president for 2 terms.
