I got to try and finish this concept album for Randy a.s.a.p. I'm still waiting for Mrs. Rhoads to contact me about its release. I really need her O.K. as far as honoring Randy in a proper way. March is looking to be the new date for its release.

No problem Frank. Last March I began creating 10 songs based upon the death and positive legacy Randy has left behind for guitar players. I have much to thank Randy for as I picked up the guitar soon after the release of Tribute. Sure I played piano when I was 10 and alto saxophone in marching bands but I never knew an instrument could be played with as much passion as Randy did. I went to college trying to study classical guitar but only ended up with a minor in the instrument. I didn't have the chops of a prodigy which made me almost quit the instrument. I didn't have a true understanding of the loss of Randy until I began teaching my own students. They are responsible for getting me to write this album as they have started playing his riffs and solos. One of my kids loves Randy and always plays Crazy Train. At first I was just amused but now I am determined to learn to play as close to that level as I am able. Here I am 8 months later and really struggling to get the sound and intensity correct for this album. The album begins with the crash and takes the story to the present day when Randy was inducted into the RockWalk last year. This album is written in the style of a Blizzard of Ozz or Diary of a Madman album. You can kinda get a feel for what the first song sounds like if you go to youtube.com and search under "Remember Randy". The video teaser is half of the first song (an instrumental) up until the guitars come in. I studied to be a composer so I know how to create music that is very dark and classical sounding. If I cannot finish this album fast enough I will release all songs one at a time. I must make that deadline of March 19 or else. Failure is not an option...

Nice job man! The intro is very promising!
Those plane sounds you added really gave me some chills.....
Had to think about those interviews with Rudy and Tommy about that last day.

y'know, i've seen this before but didn't put two and two together. i believe he would be thrilled to see the passion he has inspired. with the understanding of what you're putting together i can't wait for the rest of it. i can't think of a better legacy.
Thanks

I really appreciate that Frank. I've listened to the other tributes given in Randy's honor. I wanted to create something unique, something that would tell future generations how important Randy was as a teacher...
