Two Years After Katrina
(New Orleans, LA) -- Today is the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. In and around New Orleans there are dozens of events marking the day. Among them, a special bell ringing at 9:38 a.m., honoring those who died in the storm. The bell ringing is accompanied by a wreath laying by Mayor Ray Nagin and members of the City Council. They are doing it at 9:38 to mark the time the levees began to breach across the city two years ago.
Bush In New Orleans For Katrina Anniversary
(New Orleans, LA) -- President Bush is in New Orleans on this second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. He and the first lady arrived in the city last night. They ate dinner at the famed Dooky Chase restaurant, which is still working to re-open since Katrina. Owner Leah Chase says it should be back in business, finally, next month. The president this morning is delivering an address marking Katrina's second anniversary.
Officials Break Ground On Katrina Memorial
(New Orleans, LA) -- On this day, marking two years since Hurricane Katrina, officials are breaking ground for a new memorial. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin is joined by clergy, community members, and elected officials to pray and remember the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They will also unveil the plan for the Hurricane Katrina Memorial on the site of the Charity Hospital Cemetery. Designers say the memorial will include a series of paths resembling the curves of the hurricane with the meditative quality of a labyrinth, and a mausoleum to house the unclaimed victims of Hurricane Katrina. Officials say there are still about 120 bodies to be laid to rest.

Sorry, Ian. Shaun, Frank & Simon started it, with the "bondage" bed. They got it off topic...Trigger wrote:Is this still conected to 'My house' ? if so, what kind of house you got there Gina?Sarab wrote:I'm not telling.frank wrote: well...ummm..uhh...what did you mean then?
Anyway. I've broken down. There seems to be someone or something keeping me from living in my house. Contractor has been a no-show, and with the 2 year mark that came up, and sinus/cold shit, really has gotten to me. I have gotten very quiet at work. Yes, you read that correctly, VERY QUIET, which had one friend worried, thinking she had pissed me off. Well, she did a little, (she rides everyones ass about work), but that wasn't the deal. A little cry did a little bit of good, but there is only so much.
Anyway
I'm sorry for droning on. I know y'all are sick of all of this and wishing that 'I'd shut the hell up about it and move on already', and 'quit with the poor pitiful me crap'.
Again, I apologize for it.

Hello Gina
Don't worry about the ranting, Friends are the new family in the 21st Century (or so they say) we have moved on from close links with family to creating family for ourselves made up of friends. I think that they might have something with this idea.......so..........why not think of us like family! we won't mind listening and like Frank just said, in another 2 years you will read this and it will all seem a long time ago

Thanks y'all. I really do think of y'all as my family. I now consider myself very lucky to have such wonderful, caring people as extended family, even if I've only met one of y'all.
Thanks for the support, and I hope to be giving you a good update this weekend...
