cooler heads definitely prevail.
your story reminds me of a story in the Galveston, texas newspaper... i want to say back in 1991 or 92... i was living in Texas City at the time... some girl had been raped in Galveston by two guys... and they let her go after they raped her, fortunately she wasnt killed... so afterwards, after the cops and all that, she contacted the newspaper and had them print a story in which she stated she had AIDS and that the guys who raped her probably had it now... (she did not, she was lying to set them up...) within DAYS of the story running, both guys showed up at UTMB hospital wanting HIV tests... and were arrested at the hospital.

the sick thing about the girl who comitted suicide, Megan Meier, over the fake guy, was that the person who was acting as the guy... was the MOTHER of a girl who went to this girl's school and didn't like her. This is the most horrible thing i could ever imagine as a mom.

I remember this story and thought the same as you HP.highpriestess wrote:the sick thing about the girl who comitted suicide, Megan Meier, over the fake guy, was that the person who was acting as the guy... was the MOTHER of a girl who went to this girl's school and didn't like her. Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.
There are places in Los Angeles that if you are not part of the neighborhood (and can prove it) your're dead, end of story. The cops don't even patrol certain areas in L.A. I went down there back in the mid 90's to help a friend of mine get his brother up to Washington. The guy was Mexican and well in Washington the Barrios are a little different than L.A.'s hehehe to put it nicely. So we get down there and my friend tells me not to go out at night at all and only in the daytime if I was along with him. IT WAS FUCKING INSANE DOWN THERE!! Supposed to stay a week, second night there is a blood curdling scream directly from the front window then a few gunshots and the scream stopped. It took the EMT's and the cops 45 mins to show up. The person was obviously dead, I didn't check it out. That night I told Armondo "Fuck off! I'm going home TODAY!".. lol It's funny you have Disneyland and Psychoville existing right in the same place pretty much.
Oh bring me some CHUNKY PUDDING, and bring it RIGHT NOW!!!

everytime i watch that video, or see something about that case on tv, it makes me cry. ANY mother in this day and age can relate to that. The part where she says that she argued with her daughter about the language she was using and for not just getting offline when she was told. I HAVE DONE THAT. Girls now are so brutal to eachother right about around the 8th grade up to maybe the 10th. They create fake profiles and harrass, they create fake profiles of the girl they are messing with at the moment (and its always a different one every couple of weeks...) ... they have other kids your kid dont even know texting your kid on the cell phone, they start nasty rumors, they photoshop pictures into very comprimising pictures.... it just never ends... i've watched my kid go through it and just cry and cry and cry... and she would ALWAYS respond to them, and i would get onto her... "jess, they only mess with you because they get a reaction out of you, if you would ignore them, they'd get bored with you and move on to the next person..." and i wold argue with her to get off the computer... and we have fought about some of her language when she loses it and goes off on one of them. i mean, i have seen allllllll of the above. and i am not the only mom. everyone i talk to who has a daughter or daughters my age has said the same thing.... they've seen it at least once.Trigger wrote:I remember this story and thought the same as you HP.highpriestess wrote:the sick thing about the girl who comitted suicide, Megan Meier, over the fake guy, was that the person who was acting as the guy... was the MOTHER of a girl who went to this girl's school and didn't like her. we were brutal like that when we were young, i think, but not to the degree that they are now because we simply didn't have the technology that they have now to do as much damage as they can do. the most we could do was follow you out of the school after school and catch ya before you make it to the bus and get in a fist fight, ya know? MAYBE prank call your house.... or toilet paper/egg it.
but NOW? with this technology... they have the means to really get into eachother's heads. i mean REALLY.
it's a hard thing to watch, when the kid of the week is yours. MANY times i have found myself going OFF on some kid "dude, enough is enough. you mess with my daughter anymore and it's me you're going to deal with... and if you think i'm scared of jail, you got me fucked up with someone else..... matter of fact, why don't you send your momma to my door, i'll beat her ass, too..." LOL. i know that sounds bad.... but MAN... it just gets really frustrating.
i am so glad my daughter is kind of out of that age group now. she just turned 18 last week... and her and her friends have pretty much outgrown all of that. it's a wonder we both survived it. and that's no joke...

i HATE LA. could NOT wait to get out of there. The thing I could never get used to is... i am from texas... it's a very large state and very flat... the dallas/fort worth metroplex is HUGE... it covers alot of land... whereas in LA or Cali on general, everything is squashed into valleys and small areas... huge populations all crammed in there. Where i live.... you gotta really drive to get to the "bad areas" - for me to end up in a really, really bad, gang-ridden neighborhood, i'd have to drive about 20 minutes to get there - and it's not very easy to just accidentally end up in one either... (save my example about making the wrong turn out of fair park...), BUT in LA.... it takes seconds to find yourself in a really bad situation. You can be in the middle of multimillion dollar beverly hills homes and go a freakin half a block down the road and be dead center china town smack dab in the middle of asian gang central with people throwing shit at your car and lookin at you like "what the hell is your business here..." i HATED it. You can take the wrong exit off the highway and end up dead. (true story.)
i'll stick to my redneck-ass town, thank you very much.
