And we haven't even TOUCHED on all things Anton LaVey in this thread. THAT was me being polite ;)
Yeah, Hank Sherman and Michael Denner wrote some of metal's finest moments. I think Mercyful Fate was definitely a corner stone for the foundation of modern metal, albeit King's vocals kind of did what Yngwie did became stagnant. It's just too much anymore.. I will say this though, the King Diamond albums "Abigail" and "Conspiracy" stand on their own merit when it comes to that era of metal, IMHO.

It is funny how most people believe that Satanism is the act of worshiping Satan. What was the devil's downfall? VANITY!! The worship of the self (which I think has more merit than externalizing mental energy, keep it focused and internal and nothing shall stand in your way.)
Oh bring me some CHUNKY PUDDING, and bring it RIGHT NOW!!!

Explain in greater detail what you mean Robin please...

Music is a crutch too and so is having a partner to love and best friend to share good times with ('Good times :) sorry saluting Justin Lee Colins!)

I am too weak not to have those things but it doesn't make them any less true or my love for those things not real.

Thanks for expanding. Although doesn't anyone use their belief system to justify their actions and thoughts?

Can you explain the difference between a religous person who uses religion to justify their actions and someone else?

To a certain degree, yes ... but religion seems to be the cause
in majority of the cases. Makes you wonder why though ?!

Just so people know exactly what you mean Robin, you mean religions being the cause of trouble don't you?
The belief system you believe can be used and has been used to people's own ends, rather than what they say they believe?

I used to think this was a possibility, but there are sites with just as much compelling evidence that just as much cruelty has been caused by atheists.

My conclusions I have drawn for the time being are that it is people that are essentially the cause of these things (suffering cruelty), and not atheism or any religion etc.

It is another very interesting topic though!!!
