Hey Simon, I've also seen my grandfather suffer.
He had a brain tumor. Each week was worser than the last one.
The first weeks he din't talk so much, after those he just told us some little stories, which I don't know if they were true or not.. Maybe they were true in his imagination.
After those weeks he coulnd't remember our names, he called me Frank, wich is the name of my uncle, his son. He called my brother Dirk, which is the name of my dad, his son also. I remember the last weeks; he he tried to speak to me, but he had to think for some time before he could pronounce a word. That was really hard to see, a man who you saw a couple of times a month who was just sitting there and trying to say something, but the words woulnd't come out..
My ex girlfriend also died is a slow painfull process, but I don't talk about her often.. She had a form of cancer, I do not know the correct english word. Every time I saw her, she was doing worse. At the ends, after the radiation and everything, she din't want to come out anymore, because she had lost all her hair. From that point I realised we coulnd't take pictures anymore, walk in the parks and so on. I tried to visit her as much as I could, but there din't seemed to be enough time..
Both of these great people I met, died in peace. And I hope they are doing fine in heaven.
I just want to say that you now must enjoy your time together, take some pictures if it is still appropiate and do some normal stuff. Play games etc cause if I would pass away, I would want to spend my last days having fun, not seeing people cry.
Take care,
Thomas

Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.
