I hope to meet up with Patrick again when I visit the Netherlands either this year or next, Pat is a top man and I enjoyed it when we met up, we went out for dinner at one of my favorite Italian places then on for drinks.
Ian when you''re here again let me know! I still owe you a dinner!

An 18 hour ferry crossing does it go round in fecking circles via southern Yemen ?. I'll be pissed before we arrive thats for sure.   Pat are you in party mood, then get yourself & your mates down to the Roadgrill Fest on Saturday OK.
Hey Shaun,
Hope you have a good time there at Roadgrill! I know the festival but never been there. Would have been nice to meet you there but there are other priorities now! I bet it will be all oranje there!

I wonder who he predicts for Sunday's game - oh yes, his name is Paul
Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya85knuDzp8
I thnk he feels more comfortable with yellow or he is just lazy. :P And two years ago he was wrong for the European Championship final, so...... :) btw. Paul has been threatened by some German fans because of his predictions for the semi finals, he has extra security now!

No fondness for Football but I love the Dutch world and I am rooting for the Netherlands.

Hey Patrick, when we are next in the Netherlands I am guessing we can meet up again then? I will look forward to it.

I will be happy what ever the outcome, but will be behind Spain.
I have visited Spain over twenty times and feel a real affinity and fondness of their culture. Of course the real name for a nylon strung guitar is the Spanish guitar too, not the classical guitar! Sorry Shaun, another history lesson for you! LOL I even have a Spanish flag planted next to my English one on my guitar case. I also support Barcelona FC.
Viva Espana baby :-D

Of course!
You would have a hard time here right now if you don't like football, turn on the tv, radio, talk on street, there is no escape! :P Have to go now...... I have a good feeling for tonight! 8)

Patrick

Damn it your homeland are lovely sports; I am referring to the Dutch not taking the corner and letting the keeper have a goal kick as they deemed it fairer.

I wish all sports had that level of fair play and decency. I am LOVING this game!!

Hi Patrick

I am sorry that the Netherlands lost it was the only game I took notice of and I was rooting for you.

Matt, the Dutch are so fare and polite. After spending time in the Netherlands, Dutch Belgium and Germany I really feel that those countries are most similer to us Brits. We have similer types of approaches and personalities (and yes Matt, Germany was in there).

I have an idea. Seeing as Paul the octopus is all knowing, lets write to him and ask him some Randy Rhoads questions.
See If he can predict If there is more footage etc out there!:-D

Outch... this really hurts, so close but again nothing......
But lets face it, overall Spain was a bit better, so deserved to win. I'm not that happy with how we played yesterday, waaay over the top aggressive wise....... I was amazed that we came though the first 90 minutes with 11 players on field! Lets hope next European championship Holland will play like Holland, like they did in the 2nd half against Brasil for some minutes and like they did 2 years ago with attractive 'total' football instead of that borring 'result' football they played this championship.
Congrats to Spain!

that octopus was right again huh? :x

2nd favorite team after Sweden(who didn't even qualify :( ).

Sometimes i wish england hadn't qualified :P

Whats happened with Sweden??? I have been out of touch with football in recent years but surely the national pool of players is good enough for them to qualify???

In regards to the world cup, i felt truly torn, i love both spanish and dutch football. I would rather the dutch have won, they deserve to have their hands on the cup and spain won the european championship. (Yes, i like to hand out the candy evenly).

Still, gutted as i was i couldn't help being happy for spain.

I really don't know. It seems that most of the world teams has evolved while Sweden
stopped evolving after '94(bronze). There has been some coaching issues too.
To be fair, the only decent player we've had the last few years is Zlatan Ibrahimovic
who has been phenomenal on a club level, but failed to carry over that playing to
an international level.
