1990's Rock

Post by RR-ElectricAngel »

This decade almost killed my will to live. So much music yet nothing I can truly remember. Were there any bands during this period in Rock history that we should not forget?...

you think its hard for you? try being raised in the 90's .

Painkiller by Judas Priest. Even though it was by an already fantastic established band, i still think its a great album with some really new material on it!

Not all of the members were from Texas.
Phil Anselmo is from New Orleans, and still lives here. He is now in a band called Down. I went to high school with him, when he was singing in a band called Razor White. Seen him recently at a football game. Looks good.

even though that's true, Phil relocated to Texas at the time,
but got back to Nola while recording one of Panteras later album.
Think it was The Great Southern Trendkill ...
so I guess I'm not completely off track either ;)

Soundgarden and Alice in Chains come to mind... maybe it's cause I'm still in Seattle after all these years...

Tesla came out in the 80's..I seen them live for the first time in 1987..then later in 2001.I love a band called Steelheart who came
out in 1991  yeah, they were sorta a hair band but different, too.
As far as grunge goes..I liked most of it..esp. Soundgarden & Pearl Jam.
And I know some people thought Creed ripped Pearl Jam off & that
they basically suck but I beg to differ..I seen them live in 2000 &
they were amazing..their lyrics were heartfelt & unique.Of course they aren't a
band anymore~I also really liked Ugly Kid Joe,Collective Soul, &
Candlebox.UKJ were so hilarious & had fun performing & writing
silly songs..it was refreshing..
goodbye to all the best
I guess that we'll meet
we'll meet in the end
