Signatures on eBay + Full Blizzard Signed

Hey guys (and Shaun since we'll probably be the only 2 people who will post in this topic :P ),

I have 'Randy Rhoads Signed' as a saved search on eBay as i check from time to time. There are 2 which have caught me eye, both being Blizzard sets.

The first is the only Auction in a while which will give a good indication of what a full Blizzard set will go for in today's market. This Auction should be pretty interesting and if it stays relatively low, I'll probably have a bid:

The second listing is one I'm positive I've seen before. I'll have to go back and check Popsike, but from memory I'm fairly sure this is the one that sold a couple of months before I got mine. While I believe in my very limited judgement that these are authentic, the price at $3000 is certainly too high. In my experience, Rhoads signatures tend to only sell at Auction, sub $1000 (and that's being very generous). Again, it's a full Blizzard set, signed on the back of the 'Crazy Train' Single which does make it interesting though:

EDIT: I just checked on Popsike and it isn't the same one.

And the final one I'm going straight out and calling this a fake! I wasn't going to bother with putting here, but why not? It's a US pressing Blizzard, signed by just 'Ozzy' and 'Randy' in blue Sharpie? Marker on the cover. Looking at the other Auctions this guy has, it looks as though this blue marker gets quite a workout and seems to make them a lot of money. At $3000, anyone who shells out that kind of money for this thing has more Dollars than Cents:

Dino top middle or bottom LOL!! well the bottom one is just a fkn joke..If he gets 3K for that one it'll be from a blind bidder. The middle one is suspect as the little hook on Randy's R was something he didn't do in all the 1980 signatures i've seen. It was something he did later on early 81 signatures. so that signature could of been added to the original Ozzy, Bob & Lee sigs. I've got this single signed by Bob & Lee and it was released early on during the start of 1980 UK tour and would of been easy to get this one signed by the full band. As they did plenty in store/after show signings throughout the UK tour. But mine is only signed by Bob & Lee which would of been signed at one of the UK shows. I've seen many signed by Ozzy Bob & Lee without Randy's and i have been duped into buying similar bogus RR signatures which i found out later to be fake. I'd say it could be copied because of the 'hooked' R being a later noticeable fault .Which a forger would not realise when copying from an original and the time factor has tripped him up on this one. The top inside sleeve from the Blizzard album would of been signed around the same period see how the R is missing the 'hook' the Rhoads R looking different to the first R in Randy. I've seen this style done on a few copies of Blizzard and out of the 3 i would go for this one. But the sad thing is you'll be bidding against me as i'm watching this as well. Are you going for a serious bid or are you wanting to get this one cheap. You did the wrong thing advertising it on here as it's only going to create more bidders. My last lot of signatures sold for £400.00 which was a low price IMHO and it was the later Sarzo Aldridge line up. So that's a ball park figure of what these should go for. Cheers for posting these up.. i'm no expert and like i have mentioned before i have bought faked crap in the past. These could be facsimiled from original signatures and you cannot see that by pics alone you have to get the signatures tested by ink on paper ageing which is costly but well worth getting done by a pro authenticator.

Thanks for your input. If you're bidding then I won't. I'm not serious, I'd only go for it if it stayed cheap. That's good to know at least about the second one and the 'hook'. I've never noticed it on early '81 sigs. In fact, I haven't seen many US tour sigs by Randy, a lot of what I see are mainly coming from the UK. I know they did a ton of store appearances and there are countless stories of fans meeting the band before and after gigs. It sounds like they were pretty easy to track down if you wanted to meet them on that UK tour.

notice how on the last one, the guy tried to fake the way Randy wrote his 'd". so it must be someone who has read this forum.

His faked 'd's' are needing more attention before he'll be fooling anyone. That album is a pure joke, anyone who buys that has no clue to what an original looks like. But i have seen some crap on ebay and some fools have been well duped.

the first 2 are real....the last one has the same 'oad' as the first one so i would say its real-this version with the funny oad is one i havent seen or noticed much but its yet another variation RR did....whats nuts about it is that the first and last one are completely differnt aside from the oad.The Rs in the last one are really ugly but you see them on occasion.
i dont think you can pinpoint any version to a particular time period, he just mixed it up a lot.
Another thing ive started noticing and is a decent indicator is the way he wrote the 'an' in randy...its usually neatly done even if the rest of the sig is sloppy.

lastly, when all else fails look at the connection from n to d...that element has never changed and it appears in all 3 of these sigs....it is extremely difficult to replicate.
