It is important to be able to play this in all positions, so what I do is play it in F starting at the 1st fret, then I play it at F# starting at the second fret, then G at the 3rd and so on until I cannot play it anymore at the top of the neck (Usually about B on the 16th fret).

Once I get to the top, I work my way back down - one fret at a time - to the open position. I'd recommend doing this for five minutes straight each day until you are able to do it in your sleep.

Randy did the first one there a lot, the 2nd is in his spotlight solo. The first is played many times in the We've got the Magic solo (I've nearly finished now, I'm past the solo and everything, now on the bit just before the last chorus, the quiet bit).

Great Pentatonic intro. I remember Zakk Wylde discussing how he "connects the dots" of the pentatonic scales when he is soloing, Does anyone know what he means by this exactly?...
