What's the name of this song?

Post by Supernaut »

My friend recently sent me a song he claims is from the new Iron Maiden album. It's apparently called "For The Greater Good of God" and the main line talks about "the halo of darkness!" and "the edge of the universe.

"A deep roar resounding
as if the universe were crying
my heart is pounding
My (every nerve?) is dieing!"

The song seems to have nothing do with the supposed title...so what's the real title? anyone?

If it sounds like the sample on there then it is. I haven't heard the samples on there yet, only bought Benjamin Breeg and listened to that so far so that I don't ruin the whole album for myself before I get to listen to it all together.

That's odd. This song is longer than "the Greater Good of God" by about 1:12

interesting...but I can't hear the samples for some reason. Will keep trying.

Hah got the name!

Limewire lied to my friend. It's actually "Into The Black Hole" by Ayreon with Bruce Dickinson guest vocals.

Ah right, my friend who is the singer in my band (great singer, best i've ever met) used to really like that album. If I remember what he said right it has also got James LaBrie from Dream Theater (HIS REAL NAME IS KEVIN  ) and Hansi Kürsch from Demons and Wizards. Sounds like a pretty good album from what i've heard.

It's a concept album isn't it?

I think so. I was just about to say what I thought it was about but realised that would ruin it for everyone who hadn't heard it or been told it

Because when I hear a concept album I tend to like to try and figure out what it's all about by myself, gives me something else to listen out for. I just prefer figuring it out slowley and the pieces slowely coming together. Like with a film, if someone tells me the story before I see it I won't enjoy it nearly as much.
