So I was at the Goodwill store a few weeks back when I came across a book titled Improvising Rock Guitar for $2... being a lover of guitar manuals, I bought it.

It was published in 1973 and has a floppy 45 rpm phonograph record inside with all the examples recorded on it. A record!

It's also got tab, which I thought was an '80's thing... but the really interesting thing to me is it's from a time when Van Halen was Mammothand Quiet Riot hadn't even formed yet, Sabbath released Sabbath Bloody Sabbath that year and Zeppelin released Houses of the Holy[i]... it's refreshing in that they talk about scale box patterns but just call them 'box patterns' as opposed to [i]Pentatonic box patterns...

I love finding cool old stuff :D
